Preached a three day revival in Petersburg back in the early 90's. But travelled that way every month back in 80's going back and forth to Ministerial Meetings.

    Tim,

That was 15 years ago. ya expect me to remember the name? rofl

Actually, it was an extension of New Life Fellowship out of Manassas, VA. a satellite Church, if you will. 47 faithful members back then. Not sure how many are still there... or if the Church is still there.

Tim, when my IBM crashed (the week before school started), I tried desperately to revive it and ended up putting it on a shelf. After things calmed down a bit, I pulled it back out. Now it's usable, with a complete system rewrite, but in limited form. The USB ports don't work and neither does the ethernet port, but I got wireless working. It'll be ok for a backup.

    Bitsy,

Did you go into CMOS and check to see if the USB ports & LAN were enabled?

When you did a system rewrite, did all the drivers install correctly?

Right Click on the My Computer icon on your desktop,
    Then click on Properties
Then click on the Hardware Tab
    Then click on Device Manager.

Are there any yellow Icons beside any of the items? If so, then that item didn't install the drivers correctly and you need to manually do it.

For USB stuff, sometimes what will work is to update your windows completely, then going under the Device Manager list above, right click and uninstall everything under the USB tab and then restart. The system will seach out and try to load the drivers of the new hardward it has found.

    Jamie

Sounds like you have corrupted drivers. You may need to go to manufacturers website and download up to date drivers.

Well, I spent 2 hrs this afternoon on the phone with Dell... working through diagnostics....

Finally, since the thing is still under warranty, Dell is sending me a package to send it to them to have it fixed... I didn't think it was still under warranty, (oct 08) So God is good.

Sorry your's is not working right Bitsy...

Well, I did by a new one the first of August.

The IBM was three years old in June. I expected it to last longer than that but I've taken it all over the world and used it at times 24 hours a day.

It was a good partner. I hope this Vaio is as good.
