Have you noticed in Paul's epistles that he would remain calm when correcting doctrine in the Churches, but when that doctrine in any way effected salvation you can literally feel the anger in his words?

The anger was directed mostly at any form of a works based Gospel.

Yes, I agree that was Paul's battle for the most part.

We don't argue that much anymore, that is well understood for the most part.

I believe what we argue now was not an argument in Paul's day, what we scuffle with was well understood in Paul's day.

It looks as though the problems have reversed over time.
