THIS IS NOT A CAL VS. ARMIN DEBATE.

Today in SS there was a woman whom has been inspired by Heaven is for Real, listens to Channeling radio shows, and teaches Yoga at her gymn. She also has attended Miracle healing fairs but left with questions and has some concerns. I made an argument this morning that the pastor commended, even though I had nothing but condemnation to say about these charismatic super stars, and their New Age leaders. Of Todd Burpo I said that I believed him to be a false convert. The woman seemed interested and I said I would get her a book. There are dozens of books on this topic and I wanted to get a lay level book. I have a few in my collection some of which are.

Invasion of Other gods
Satan's evangelistic Strategy for this New Age
Who are you to judge?

I am also aware of one that Ron Rhodes has published called The Truth Behind Ghosts, Mediums, and Psychic Phenomena but have not read it. I decided on Invasion of other gods and ordered her a copy. The book is well indexed, well defended with scripture, well researched, covers a wide variety of occultic influences from the New Spirituality, New Age, motivational speaking, positive thinking, self-esteem, mother earth, Channeling devils, Transcendental Meditation, herbs, etc..

I know lots of people practice their psycho-babble and teach people that TM is the way to go and why not it brings results so why not use it?

greater inner calm throughout the day
reduced cortisol (known as the “stress hormone”)
normalized blood pressure
lower risk of heart attack and stroke
reduced anxiety and depression
improved learning ability and memory
reduced insomnia

I hope she reads Invasion because it seems to be the most well rounded LAY LEVEL book on this subject, unless I am mistaken. Opinions? Have you helped anyone before come out of the occult? Have you been in the occult? Seen a devil? Years ago I did home care and worked with a patient whom played with the occult, and once he described a very large and evil presence entered his house, but left for some reason. The occult effects more than you realize.

From the way you've described people in your church, a book might bee too much.

If you're wanting a really low-level intro, try John Ankerberg's "Facts on" series, which has one on the occult:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/0890818835/?tag=baptis04-20

They're older, but a good intro that might make just the right amount of splash.

He's got other titles in the series, like "The facts on false teachings in the church" which deals more with Word of Faith, and other stuff prominent in the late 80s to early 90s. It does have a small treatment of Positive Thinking, Inner Healing, and other stuff:

Thanks James :) Darn I sure wish I would have bought this before I ordered Invasion. Even though a lay book, it may be too much. It is much harder to read than Heaven is For Real. Cant cancel the order of Invasion.

Just point out to her isaiah, as the prophet/God warns against consulting ghosts/dead/seeking ANYTHING other than the Lord, and just show her Saul and witch of endor, how did that end up for King saul?

I challenge you to list one post showcasing my easy believe-ism. One.

He said every post. Every means all which really doesn't mean all but some. The actual number is unknown but be reassured that all posts that were intended to be every post will become evident.
