Calling evolution "atheistic" doesn't make it so..
Facts aren't atheistic.. and NO, you aren't looking at any facts.. You're distorting them.. and ignoring them..
Which is quite sad..

Here, this was written by the International Theological Commission at the Pontifical Academy of Science in the Vatican. Take a real close look at the end of the paragraph at the guy who authorized its publication.

According to the widely accepted scientific account, the universe erupted 15 billion years ago in an explosion called the “Big Bang” and has been expanding and cooling ever since. Later there gradually emerged the conditions necessary for the formation of atoms, still later the condensation of galaxies and stars, and about 10 billion years later the formation of planets. In our own solar system and on earth (formed about 4.5 billion years ago), the conditions have been favorable to the emergence of life. While there is little consensus among scientists about how the origin of this first microscopic life is to be explained, there is general agreement among them that the first organism dwelt on this planet about 3.5-4 billion years ago. Since it has been demonstrated that all living organisms on earth are genetically related, it is virtually certain that all living organisms have descended from this first organism. Converging evidence from many studies in the physical and biological sciences furnishes mounting support for some theory of evolution to account for the development and diversification of life on earth, while controversy continues over the pace and mechanisms of evolution. While the story of human origins is complex and subject to revision, physical anthropology and molecular biology combine to make a convincing case for the origin of the human species in Africa about 150,000 years ago in a humanoid population of common genetic lineage.

International Theological Commission held at Rome during the period 2000-2002. The present text was approved in forma specifica, by the written ballots of the International Theological Commission. It was then submitted to Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, the President of the Commission, who has given his permission for its publication.

Now, notice who published it..? Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger.. Better known as Pope Benedict XVI.
And Popes don't tend to be atheists.. lol
The basic problem is that they chose to no longer accept that the Bible is inspired and infallible, and denied Jesus knew what he spoke about here, so basically now worship at alter of science!

3rd edition

The dirty little secret is that thos eof us holding to Intelligent design/creationism have many who have Phd and other high degrees from same places the Athiestic evolutionists have, you know the Cambridge/Oxford of the world!

Have you seen the Grand Canyon? And again, you say no organization accepts it as valid. Do you live under a rock? (pun intended)
Even his own vaunted dating methods have us believing that somehow fossils on bottom are as old as ones found in top layers, how can that be?

The evidence shows that there was NO "global" flood..
If there was a global flood within the last 6000 years (as YEC's claim), the polar ice caps wouldn't even exist.
They'd have broken up and melted away like ice in a glass of coke, if they were covered under a mountain of water for months at a time.
The fact that the polar ice caps even exists is clear proof that there was NO "global" flood.
There is simply NO way possible for those caps to either survive a global flood , or regrow the million years of layers they contain in a few 1000 years..
Simply put, YEC's are forced to once again dismiss the laws of physics in order to believe in a global flood.
(which sadly, they continually do at every turn)
Moon is moving 2.5 " apart from earth every year, IF billions of years old, would have snapped away like a rubber band!
Also, Lunar module had those big supports on end of legs as extreme age of moon meant expected 30-40 ft deep of moon dust, but only found it few inches deep!

What other study Bibles follow the Young Earth Chronology in their notes and articles?

It might be helpful to start a list of YEC study Bibles.
Out of curiosity I asked AIG and, in addition to the Morris Study Bible, they recommended the MacArthur Study Bible, the Reformation Heritage Study Bible, and the Ryrie Study Bible.

Any idea what changes have been made from the 1st to the 3rd edition?

No, I do not know what changes were made from 1st to the 3rd edition. That would be a good question to send to the Institute for Creation Research.

At this point, I am impressed with ICR for the following reasons.

  1. ICR is an intergenerational Christian education organization. By that I mean to say there appear to be several generations of the Morris family involved in the ministry over many decades.
  2. ICR appears to follow a slow growth expansion program. I know nothing about their financial situation. But I would be surprised if they have much debt to speak of.
  3. The current ICR staff appear to have education credentials, which support their ministry.
  4. ICR appears to believe parents and extended family members (i.e., grandparents and great grandparents) have the right to select the education path for the family children--be it public education, private education, or home school.

Thanks for this information.
  • --> I have a copy of the KJV Morris Study Bible on the way.
  • I have a copy of the original MacArthur Study Bible (NKJV) in my library.
  • --> The KJV Reformation Heritage Study Bible looks interesting from what I can tell by the online excerpts. I will have to look further into this study Bible.
  • I used to have a copy of the KJV Ryrie Study Bible in the past, but passed it on to someone else.

I am expecting a copy of the Henry Morris KJV Study Bible to appear on my door step tomorrow.

Looking forward to some thumb-thru examinations of this study Bible.

I will try to post a short review later in the week.

Please let me know if there are particular notes or aspects of this study Bible where you want me to take a close look.

This is an exciting time--

Will I keep this study Bible?
Will I return it?
Will I place it on the stack of other Bibles and books I am reviewing?

All good questions to consider when my dog and I take our morning walk.
If you are not busy--why don't you join us on the log?

My personal observation.

The Henry Morris Study Bible, King James Version is a nice addition to the personal library of any Bible lover. Placing this Bible on the King James Version section of my personal library will be a honor for this Bible lover.

Do I agree with all 10,000 notes and 19 appendices?

Ask me in a decade from now -- every year of the 2020s, I will need to read 1,000 notes and 2 appendices.

A daunting task, to be sure.

I spent some time last night with The Henry Morris Study Bible, KJV.

This study Bible is good.
Well made.
Thick paper with round corners. And none of the pages stick.
Large font (both text and notes).
Notes are well written and show the benefit of excellent editing.

Of course this study Bible is literal and supports traditional Christian interpretation. The kind of study Bible every home should have for home study, home schools, private Christian schools, and public schools--and I could go on and on and on.

And while I am sharing, I suggest you catch up with some educators and see how well home schooling prepareds young people for life here on God's good earth. And yes, most children do not really need the sports this and that.

If reading this post bothers you, gets in your crawl, or makes you see red--I am sorry.

You did not find so far "ignorant theology" in the notes have you? As some see any of us daring to hold to a literal view of Genesis being such!

I bought one a good six weeks ago and opened the box and did little else. Have been working overtime since the first of November and still am so I don't know when I will be able to read the new study
Bible but I am very happy to have it! Of course, I have been a YEC, or Biblical Creationist, since my visit to the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter over two years ago. I was fortunate enough to hear Dr. Terry Mortenson in a free lunchtime lecture in Legacy Hall of the Creation Museum. He discussed the beginnings of formal geology during the Enlightenment, a very backward scientific age. We know now from American science that Darwin's evolution is scientifically impossible. I was very pleased to learn that Dr. John Whitcomb lives here in Indianapolis. He still has a radio show. I am no more than three hours away from the Creation Museum but I haven't been back. There is a program on the Red Sea crossing on Feb. 7 but I haven't decided if I will go or not. Probably not. The car goes in the shop tomorrow for routine maintenance but it is kinda old for a winter trip and so is the driver.

I deevolutionized my children before they were born. Even was called to school a couple of times. They didnt know how to handle it
