..... For Y'all:

A Baptist preacher goes to Chick-Fil-A, and right before he starts his meal, he hears this CCM tune playing from the background piped in music.

He bolts from his seat and rushes to the counter and boldly demands to the manager that he immediately turn that CCM tune off.

Would you attend that Baptist preacher's church?

That will depend on the person. Some attend churches for traditional hymns only, so there will be those who would love this guy. Would you go to his church. That is the question?! :flower:

While he was boldly making his demands, I would join him at the counter and tell the manager to leave it on.

There is boldness, and there is bossiness. This seems like the latter.

I would loudly ask him if his coulottes (sp?) were chafing and then politely ask the manager to leave it on. If he did, I would leave a tip for the staff for the trouble.

And no, I would not attend his church.

The more important question is what song sent the pastor into a tizzy and got his panties all bunched up? :tongue3:

He hears what tune?

Couple of things here...

I don't like censorship, even if the CCM tune is heretical. I don't attend churches primarily because of the pastor. Church is NOT about the pastor. It is about Jesus and the people of God gathered in community.

Folks who attend church based on the pastor need to seriously examine their motives for participating in a church. For some, it may be very important to receive ministry from a certain pastor, but for others it may just be idolatry or wanting to have their ears tickled by an excellent pulpiteer and expositor of scripture. Church culture has become so focused on good preaching that many Christians don't realize that there are many other good reasons to attend church - most importantly, to serve in churches and communities that may not have an especially gifted preacher.

I must be behind the times as I didn't know what CCM was.

Unless the song falls into the raunchy, nasty, cussing, immoral categories, ain't nobody stuttin' him.

I'll bet dancing isn't allowed at "his church" either. I would venture that the extent of this man's congregation is

You lookin' for a Special to sing next meetin' time???

Not this fella. I couldn't carry a tune if my life depended on it. All requests are to have me as a "solo" singer; so low no one can hear me. LOL!!

:D

I would not attend his church. It's obvious that he puts way too much emphasis on secondary issues.

A. I might be too annoyed with him.

B. I like the church I attend.

C. I don't frequent Chick Fil A like that to notice freaks at the counter.
