Glad you're not Mr. Crowley and that may be why the Lord doesn't have you involved in this.
I agree MP, it is great to see people sit down over a cold one to resolve their differences as opposed to going to court or giving someone an extreme, undeserved label. I hope the president is setting a precedence that others will try and emulate. Maybe instead of fighting over our differences we can celebrate our agreements.

==They are not calling him to DC to have a honest chat. They are calling him to DC to have a "shame on you" session. If he goes, he will be made to look like the bad guy in all of this. Or, and maybe even worse, it will be made to look like he and professor Gates were both equally responsible. Its a political stunt and no, if I were Mr. Crowley, I would not go. And yes, I would file a defamation of character lawsuit against President Obama and Professor Gates. They have slandered his name from sea to shining sea. They have made him out to be the "racist bad cop" when, in fact, he is not. We can only be thankful that the truth about the events of last week have come out.
Crowley is under no obligation, even as a Christian (if he is one), to forgive either Obama or Gates until they repent of their slander. Neither has done so.
You are correct. He's being set up and shouldn't go. Right now, he is clearly the good guy in this triangle, and they want to change that perception and use him to do it.
If I could offer him advice, I would tell him they are both snakes. Don't crawl into the pit with them.

but lets bounce this off the word instead of worldly ways of doing things which would mean lawsuits, political points, and feeding the media.

Obama took what could have escalated into hardness of heart, to where now these two men will meet under different circumstances in a different light and a new spirit to ratchet this thing down.
Martin both men have agreed, so lets let the Holy Spirit work as only God can work things out , the other way is the same old, same old which the right will spin and the left will spin. Why not , not spinning this at all and pray for peace between these two men instead of politics.

Glad you think the best about people. They may get drunk and laugh at all the people who think this is a big deal. The cop and the professor may go home as good friends, stranger things have happened.
I'm in favor of seeing this nation heal. I think your solution is strange coming from the party who thinks Palin gets too many frivolous ethics complaints.
In the final analogy, Crowley is a big boy and doesn't need anyone to fight his battles for him. If he is okay with this solution, who are we to object?
I think you are using "until they repent" as an excuse for no forgiving.
What about turning the other cheek? How about loving your enemies? I don't think we should hide behind, "he didn't really apologize". That is not biblical advice.

Amen! Didn't Christ pray "forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us"? We will be forgiven by God in the same manner in which we forgive others. This whole idea of "they didn't repent to suit me" is a symptom of a hardened attitude driven by hate.

Personal preference there... I would have taken a bottled water but I can't tell anyone else what to consume.
I will however preach abstinence from my pulpit but I leave the word of God to deal with the hearts of man. It is sharper than any two edged sword ya know??? :thumbsup:

And your post has nothing to do with what I said that you quoted. But I have forgiven Limbaugh for his swine-like attributes. Pigs can't help being pigs. And I hope the pigs have forgiven me for associating the Porcine One with them.
