Things went really well this morning. I really enjoyed doing the show as I am finally feeling comfortable with talking over the air as this was my third show. :)

On tomorrow morning's show - 12/27/08 - I have quite a few instrumental tunes lined up, and a short history lesson about a post-War Between the States event.

The show will be starting off hot and fast - 7:00-10:00 a.m. central time. :)

Awesome! I would do a long distance dedication to Mrs. Poles for our 35th anniversary tomorrow, but at my house, bluegrass is a lonely affliction. The beautiful Mrs. does not have any love for this most unique style of American music.

Well, you've had 35 years to convert her.......what have you been doing ?

Just kiddin' MP. Luckily, I met Phyllis at a bluegrass musician's party, so we've had that to share.

Hiding my stash of bluegrass music...sneaking around to listen to Bluegrass Junction on XM. As a WV girl, she says her grandparents played that when she was small, so she got sick of it. Poor thing. She has many good qualities. Her taste in music ain't one of 'em.

That's cool. Mrs. Poles and I have much in common, but our musical tastes are way way apart...and I like many genres.

I definitely prefer the acoustic bass but I can tolerate the electronic bass.

I also prefer no percussion but I can tolerate light percussion such as Alison Krauss & Union Station make use of.

Just a reminder about my radio show tomorrow morning from 7:00-10:00 a.m. central time. This week's history lesson will be about a train wreck.

Just noticed in your bio you played the baritone, I played the baritone, trombone and tuba from grades 6 to 12. Was never any good but since I was the only tuba player I got to be first chair...

A reminder about tomorrow's show. I really, really like the playlist I have put together, including a history lesson about another famous train wreck featuring a song by Norman Blake and another edition of "Nightmare Theater" featuring a song by Carrie Hassler & Hard Rain. :)

Just a reminder about my show tomorrow morning. I will playing several tracks from the CD "Magnum Banjos" - a must listen for those who love the sound of the banjo. :)

:love2: I love bluegrass music, particularly anything with the mountai dulcimer in it......but then again I love the glottal vibes of didgeridoo, and the etheral beauty of early music:wavey:

I think I have a really good line up of songs for my show tomorrow morning. Included will be several selections from the Smoky Mountain Hymns collection that I mentioned in another thread.

Please take a listen if you are so inclined. :)

Then I think you would like the Smoky Mountain Hymns collection as it includes the mountain dulcimer in it. :)

I really enjoyed doing my show this morning. I had had some technical glitches the past couple of weeks but no problems at all today - I thank God for that.

Also, I found out from someone on the technical side of the W-W-B how many people were listening. I don't think I can publish the number but I was pleasantly surprised at how many folks were listening. :)
