I have been a Southern Baptist all my life. I was even ordained as a deacon 40 years ago or so. I have not been involved with a church for s few years now. But I am getting back. I am glad I found this forum. I am fast approaching 76 years of age and am somewhat disabled. Being that I can't do much physically anymore, I write fiction books as a hobby.
Best,
Joe

Thanks for your interest. I write historical fiction, family sagas and family history, and some with a little harmless spirituality. You can find them on Amazon. Just type in my name, Joe Robert Lock.

Many of us hold firmly to what we were initially taught, and exhibit hostility to those presenting alternate views. The SBC has a Calvinist wing, and a larger Non-Calvinist wing. These folks , which includes yours truly, sometimes disparage others.

On the other hand, if you have an open mind and wanting to grow in your knowledge of God's word, this forum at least offers an opportunity to hear alternate views. But as we know, sometimes the old view is more accurate, sometimes the new.

Most of my political and social views would surely be frowned upon on this forum, though I could be wrong. If everyone here would view my post with an open mind and not be judgmental, then I would never have a problem with what is written here, and even if hostility toward me might surface, I will just take it in stride. That being said, I am very liberal, have no conservative views, and find that my liberal left leanings are compatible with my spiritual beliefs.
