So it's more like a business venture to you then - you know, I recently went to your FB and some of you likes are strange. Seems like you like music, restaurants, sports and television but nothing on religion, except you "like" some group called "discuss atheism". Oh, and also the ACLU, Bernie Sanders, Bill Nye, Ellen Degeneris, Mark Cuban and George Takei???

All makes sense now, see ya.

I can see how it could look like that. It is a hobby of mine (and my buddy Rex). Unfortunately, no one was going to give us this for free and I would expect them not to considering how much work it takes to run a successful forum and invest in its future.

I can attest to that! I also have a Christian discussion forum - but often am not spend the proper amount of time in it - thus it is not as successful as BB.

What is the site if you don't mind me asking? Christian Forums is a beast to work on. I enjoy it though. Lots of great discussions and views on that forum :)

Brent,

Your Faith being listed as a Non Baptist Christian almost seems like you are making a statement that you have strong feelings against Baptist. I've seen titles like non denominational, born-again, Jesus Christ, etc. Just wondering if you want to share why the specific title concerning Baptist? Isn't it like saying I'm a Non Catholic Christian, or a Non Charismatic Christian, or a Non Pentacostal Christian, or a Non Arminian Christian, etc, you see what i mean? You made your faith identified in the negative towards a particular group. Blessings!

Not what the intention was. The reason that option exists is so that we can allow only Baptists to post within the Baptist only sections of the site.

Oh ok. I didn't know it was an option listed, I thought we just typed in what we wanted. It's been quite awhile since I visited that page. I should have investigated it before thinking the worse. Sorry.

Hi everyone!

I am very excited about the opportunity to be a part of Baptist Board and help it continue to grow. After browsing around for the last few days, I see a lot of great, dedicated people here.

I'd like to share a few things about myself:

My name is Brent Wilson and I am 31 years old. I live in Huntsville, AL and consider myself to be non denominational. I have been a part of online forums since I was 16 years old. When I was 17 years old I decided I wanted to start my own forum, so I started what is now http://www.mustangevolution.com. Fast forward 10 years or so and Mustang Evolution was one of the largest Ford Mustang communities in the world.

Having a desire to try something new, I decided to sell my forum and start investing and into other online communities. Now I am a part of https://www.whippmedia.com with my business partner Rex.

I'd like to answer a few questions that I see come up when we purchase a new forum and then I am very happy to answer any questions you may have:
  • We have no immediate plans to ad any advertisements to Baptist Board. We do have access to one of the largest family focused ad networks in the world though and when the time comes we will be using them as they do a very good job to keep the ads clean and the annoying pop ups and auto playing video ads out.
  • Still discussing ads, when we do decide to add advertisements, every single members who has registered before the day we add advertisements will automatically be given an ad free account. This means you and everyone else that is registered now will never see an ad on Baptist Board when you are logged in.
We have a lot of good ideas and plans for Baptist Board down the road that we will share with you when the time comes. I really hope I can live up to your expectations when it comes to providing you all a great place for fellowship with other Christians.

With all of that said, I am happy to take any questions or concerns you might have! If you can, I would love to hear a little bit about you as well!

How long have you believed in a God?

I guess I am a bit naive about the creation and selling of Christian forums. It seems it is a business, I guess I always thought it was a non-profit ministry someone created for the benefit of the body of Christ.

Nope. Strictly a business.

Essentially, you and I are only as important to them as the number of times we click on the pop-up ads.

Even so, my point that the people who run Christian message boards don't care about the people who post there stands.

These guys that can mind read are simply amazing!

Oh, and you're not creating much empathy for yourself with the board owner with statements like this.
