I was watching History channel -- an expose' on Satan.

Well, you know how scripturally "grounded" that would be. BUT right in the opening they presented this thought:

Satan resented God creating Adam -- was jealous, pride got to him, that God would create someone "above" him. Is there any evidence that anyone knows of that this was the genesis of Satan's fall?

It seems that Satan's fall came before humanity was ever created. He wasn't jealous about humanity. Rather he was jealous of God's position. Satan didn't want humanity's position. He wanted to rise above God's.

None!

For in one place [Ps 8] the Scriptures say,

“What are mere mortals that you should think about them,
or a son of man that you should care for him?

Yet you made them only a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.

Hebrews 2:6-8 NLT

I think Satan and the fallen angels are jealous because although we fell also, we have a chance to be redeemed and they don't....

That has got to make them mad....
