Holiday an insult

Martin Luther King wasn't an idiot. He was a good Baptist pastor from what I've seen. To say "his people" is an insult and racist.
Since King was a Christian he is your brother in Christ.
White America did not kill King.
Not to dispute the good Rev., but the bolded portion has been very aptly accomplished by the race-baiters of both races since his death.
Also, I had nothing to do with his death, so NO guilt!! Sorry Rev.; you're baiting just like the others.
As for what has happened to black america, I'll just have to trust your expertise on that!
I agree there should not be racism in the body of Christ. There never should be.
As for this Rev.'s comments... he needs to read a few speeches by Bill Cosby.
I don't agree with everything Cosby says or said or did... he hit a nerve because he hit to close to the truth.
You may be saying this has nothing to do with the Rev.'s speech but it does.
Just like we should do for many things check it out for yourself. Look up Cosby's comments online- search them out.
As for "baiting people" this is done by a lot of people-- what do I mean by that? Just that many people do this- politics- race- religion- ect... It is getting to the point that it is ... stupid. I know , so much for my big vocb. , but that is what is happening in all areas of life.

MLK was not an idiot. Not all of his ideas were good ones, but his heart was in the right place and he accomplished things that needed to be accomplished. His assasssination was a heinous act, and his loss was a tragedy.
On the other hand, anyone who blames the entire white race for the assassination of King (or for slavery for that matter) IS an idiot. Except for blatant racists (who are also idiots), most of us who were alive at the time, regardless of race, were shocked and saddened by King's murder and wished very much that it hadn't happened. And I'm pretty sure that there were quite a few white people involved in the tracking down, prosecuting, convicting and sentencing of James Earl Ray, just as there were an awful lot of white people who worked hard to end slavery. I get really sick of alleged African-American 'leaders' like this Johnson throwing out blanket blame on all white people for everything bad that has ever happened to anyone of their race.
The good news is that people like Johnson aren't any more representative of African-Americans generally than the KKK is of white people. Race relations have come a long way and will continue to improve in spite of the small percentage of hateful racists on both sides.

We do not celebrate the day President Abraham Lincoln was assisnated...we celebrate his birthday.

I think I'm tired of being accused of feeling/doing/taking something about/to/away from other people in this nation. I'm 31 years old. I've never attacked a black/asian/latino/etc. person. And I'm tired of having to answer for htings I had no part of. Shut up about white America, black America. All you do by doing that is stir it all back up! I worked and took no holiday on MLK's birthday, nor observed it in any way other than to think momentarily about a great civil rights leader that was killed. Does that make me an evil racist white man? I don't think so.
