To me its not about the speaker and his charisma but about the content of the message. I heard plenty of IFB sermons by Charisma and gifted communicators at BJU, but they did not preach faithfully to the word of God. Then I heard some preachers whom others ignored or did not think so highly of and they kept to the word of God.
A good preacher will preach verse by verse or in a expository style, however he will only be good if in the right environment. If he preaches in a church that does not value this, then he will be ignored or removed from his ministry as what happened to a friend of mine whom preached in a very topical and charismatic Calvary Chapel church that did not value this style.
The same for an evangelist. In Denver I have attracted crowds and have not been ignored when I have done street preaching as the audience is different than in the Bible Belt.
So what say you?
