Sue, interestingly, in regards to fortune cookies, there's a chinese restaurant near me that I visit regularly at lunch. I take the fortunes and tape them to my monitor. I have about 30 or so surrounding my screen. My fav's are:

Somebody is thinking of you
Someone is speaking well of you
You have an excellent sense of humor
You will inhierit a large sum of money (I've had this one for four years, an I know if I just hang on to it long enough... :D )

and my favorite:

Promote literacy. Buy a box of fortune cookies today.
Reminds of the time dh and I were at a Chinese restaurant. HE LOVES to "get me". Our tradition is to read them outloud. So he "read" me his-"HELP! I'm stuck in a Chinese Fortune Cookie factory" Yep, I fell for it. LOL

We had Chinese last night and my fortune cookie said, "Eat healthy - an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

Wow! Even fortune cookies don't tell fortunes anymore!
My favorite I ever got was ' your friends all agree, your the best' LOL

John Edward doesn't talk to the dead. He uses visual cues and rules of statistical analysis to give that appearance. The result, when edited into television program, is a clever, but false, depiction of a man "appearing" to communicate with people who have died. The simple fact of the matter is, he's a deceiver, making money from the sale of his deceptive television show. He's a secular Benny Hinn.

I was telling Diane the name of the man she was talking about. Nothing more. He is about as phoney as you can get.

Thanks Donna and Johnv! I have never watched the show and was speaking from only what I'd assumed he claimed to do.

Hokey Pokey and Phoney Baloney!

Diane

Thankful

A young woman that does my hair sometimes really believes this John Edward. I tried to explain to her what he is doing and how it appears that he is really receiving messages from dead loved ones but only through cues from family members.

It is very sad!

Are you trying to tell me that the Pet Psychic isn't on the up and up? I want my money back.

I don't knoooooooooooow! Blackbird has seen Johnny Carson do it on The Tonight Show---and has even tried to try it before but Blackbird's mind is so strong that it melts the strongest crystal ball he can find when he gazes into it---it just clouds up and melts! Has that happened to you, rsr? Or would you rather that your German Shepherd tell you your future??

I was talking to a lady once---down on her luck---I hadn't seen her in a while and when I saw her she says

"Preacher! Things are looking up!"

"How you say that?"

"Well, just the other day I was walking to my car at Wal-mart and a black cat crossed my path! I knew then that everything was gonna be alright!"

I thought---"She's got that backwards, doesn't she???"

I've got all the weird people livin' here in Mississippi---ya'll know that??? I asked my wife the other day---"Are we the only NORMAL people who live in this state???"

Naw. I can sometimes work up enough to rewarm leftovers, but it takes too much concentration and then I forget my name for a week.

This is a very controversial subject as far as the 'world' is concerned, but I came from a world of darkness where I actively worshiped and participated in idolotry and all forms of paganism. It may seem harmless to some but from experience it is a doorway for the evil one to just put his foot in. I would say NO and NO and NO to any such 'harmless' fun. Grace and Peace in Our Lord Jesus Christ.

If psychics were real, they would be winning the lottery every week. Oops - that's another thread!
Thye are doing more than that. They are raking in milions of dollars and claiming the minds of many people. This kind of activity is on the rise. Just listen to people talk sometime.
