The House rejected an attempt Thursday to prevent the Pentagon from paying for gender transition treatment.

A total of 24 Republicans joined Democrats in defeating GOP Rep. Vicky Hartzler’s amendment by 209-214, which recently passed through the Rules Committee.

Those Republicans include Reps. Justin Amash, Mike Coffman, Barbara Comstock, Darrell Issa and Frank LoBiondo, among others.

The amendment would have prohibited the Pentagon from paying for gender transition treatments like hormone therapy.

Pro-LGBT military organizations applauded the vote and called the amendment a “horrifying, vicious attack on service members.”

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi slammed Republicans for trying to “rip away” health care for transgender service members.

In a statement Thursday, Pelosi said the “disgusting” attempt to restrict funds from being used to provide gender transition treatments is “unprecedented, unacceptable and undermines our national security.”

“Republicans should be ashamed: instead of protecting the men and women who risk their lives to defend our freedoms, they are fighting to rip away the health care of thousands of brave service members,” Pelosi said in a statement. “This cowardly Republican amendment targeting transgender men and women in uniform effectively bans these patriotic Americans from serving their country.”

He is also in charge of setting policy for who can and can not enter the country.

I feel like joining the military for an operation isn't exactly going to cause transgendered folks to go running to their recruiter. If they do, you get a Soldier. I'm not going to call something a problem until it is actually a problem.

If they rely on the V.A. to keep them alive, they will probably die while burried in the mountain of paperwork.

There's a verse in Proverbs that says, in essence, "A wise man foresees trouble and works to avoid it."
Seems like common sense to me.
Also, just because a name is on a roster DOES NOT MEAN HE/SHE/IT is a soldier!!

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is barring transgender people from serving in the military “in any capacity,” citing “tremendous medical costs and disruption.”

Trump’s announcement Wednesday morning on Twitter did not say what would happen to transgender people already in the military.

The president tweeted that after consulting with “Generals and military experts,” the government “will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military.”
