(CNSNews.com) - Some critics say global warming is a form of religion for liberal environmental activists. Indeed, in her official statement on Earth Day, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi invoked both God and the Bible.

But the intentions were good, right ? We were only trying to help. Is God pleased with our efforts ? Or do you think he would rather us concentrate on spreading the good news of salvation thru Christ Jesus, and leave the climate to him ? Do you think he could make the world keep going, or is his power limited by us ?

And to all the word twisting libbies, I never said it was OK to pollute. I have said we are to be good stewards.

Are the ethanol pushers good stewards ? Should we keep giving these lamebrain ideas grants & subsidies just because they mean well ?

Regardless of the intentions, making ethanol from corn has turned out to be a horrible idea for the entire the planet.

You are missing my point. People did not weigh this out, but rammed it thru, despite objections. But instead of examining results, they say we have to do more, moreover, those that don't agree hate the earth, and don't care about future generations. You yourself have said the right wing just hates. Here is an instance where the right wing appears to have been, well, right.

Why not just admit we know nothing of how to adjust the climate ?

Why don't christians hold the word of God as a higher authority than Al Gore, Newt Gingrich, or Nancy Pelosi ?

What if the next libby "cure" turns out worse than ethanol ? when are we going to start ignoring these nuts ?

I am not aware of much of a difference between the three remaining major candidates concerning climate change.

These are Peolsi's own words that reflect what she thinks the Bible says on the subject. She is using this to give credibility to the excessive environmental protection policies she wants to cram down our nation's throat regardless of the negative consequences. It contradicts the original intentions God gave told us about regarding the Garden of Eden as it was before the fall of man: "The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it." (Genesis 2:15)

The "work it" and the "take care of it" require a balance that is often missing from one-sided viewpoints. This includes those who would exploit the land without regard for the future and not "take care of it" - that's certainly happened - and those that would prevent the use of the needed natural resources that the land brings forth if we "work it" - that is happening.

We are, right now, experiencing the consequences of government's meddling in the production of energy - the use of corn to manufacture ethanol at the expense of food - and the interference in the free market by paying farmers not to plant crops. At the same time we refuse to permit drilling for oil - even with a host of precautions - in areas that we know contain tremendous amounts of oil that we need.

We also burden ourselves with tremendous costs to reduce air, water, and land pollution to unreasonable levels to the great pleasure of consultants and administrators who make a living generating and inspecting mountains of useless paperwork. The intent may be good but the implementation is awful!
