They were fired, but the first one to be prosecuted for a misdemeanor was found not guilty today. Houston is not far behind LA in corruption.

I agree. I live in the area (though not in Houston proper). On a whole, the police there are MUCH more aggressive and and less professional than other cities.

Now his statement about "unrepentant lying" a bit over the top.

Disagree about being "over the top," and here's why: it's not the first time he's made such a claim, and been unable to provide proof for it. Each time, he's been shown the evidence that proves his position to be in error; and each time, he refuses to recant.

I would normally put it off according to Proverbs 26:4; but a long time ago, he passed into the realm of Proverbs 26:5, and I can't find it in myself to allow his folly to continue unchallenged, thereby perhaps influencing others to believe it might be true.

That's my explanation; as moderator, make any necessary decisions you have to. I'll abide by your decision.

That is hardly surrendering. That is called being apprehended.

No retraction. If you want proof search for it. Write the Chronicle or someone at the police dept. or what ever. I think it came from a news a TV new report but I cannot remember.By the way you have been reported.

I provided my proof. I researched at least ten available articles, dating back to Feb 2011.

The only proof you have to offer in return is "you think it came from a TV news report, but you can't remember." How do you think that evidence would hold up in a court of law?

Now it's your turn. Provide some actual proof, or do the right thing according to Matthew 18 (in other words, a brother has come to you and told you that you've committed an offense).

What does scripture say about gossip and slander? About lying? If you can't prove your statements, then guess what? You're guilty of gossip, slander, and lying.

I know you're a pretty black-and-white guy when it comes to what scripture says; so I'm asking you to not be a hypocrite. Apply the same standards to yourself.

NOTE: You'll notice that I'm only taking you to task on your unfactual comment regarding past military service. On all other aspects of this case, I still agree with you.

Targus, I hope you know that about 90% of the time, I usually side with you in these conversations. However, this time, I have to call you out. When the kid hit the ground, he stopped moving. Most likely, he had the wind knocked out of him from the fall he took; maybe it's exactly as reported and he realized he wasn't going to get away, and gave up. Either way, he stopped moving.

The way I trained my Air Force security guys, that's the point where you surround him and put cuffs on him. You pile on him, and put him in wrestling holds if necessary to hold him down. But once you've got four guys on him, there's absolutely no need to kick him; or after the point where it looked like they had his arms restrained behind him, punch him in the mid-section.

I reiterate something I wrote previously to freeatlast: One of the articles I researched on this case quoted a 37-year academy instructor: "that's not what we teach them in the academy."

I can come to no other conclusion than these guys let themselves get out of control.
