No problem - the Westcott family was not small in England at that time, and many of them were involved in the church and/or in missionary work. For another example, it gets even more confusing because one of "Brooke Foss's (B.F.'s)" sons, "Frederick Brooke (F.B.)" also wrote a few doctrinal and Biblical commentary books during his time as a missionary. To add to the mix, there was also an occultist author in England at that time named W.W. Westcott (unrelated, as far as I can tell) who wrote several books. Much of the claims of "heretic" and "occultist" attributed to B.F. Westcott arises because of the confusion with W.W. Westcott. Even Gail Riplinger, in her book "New Age Bible Versions", often quotes W.W. Westcott while only indicating the quote came from "Westcott", deceiving and confusing the reader into thinking B.F. and W.W. were the same person.

Can you provide a verifiable example of this?

Not sure, but I came across this when reading about "New Age Versions" where at the very end Riplinger admits that it is conjecture, but she uses that to say that the two are one.

Take this as it is - I don't remember the link where I read it.

I don't have the book with me, so it will have to wait until later this evening before I can provide specific examples. However, buried in footnote 128 for chapter 30, on page 677, she says "The connection between B.F. Westcott and the activities attributed to the possible allonym of W.W. Westcott are speculation on my part."
