Ouch, I am glad the person who wittnessed to me did not read your advise.I wouldn't waste my time.
Not that they aren't worth my time, but it is extememly rare to have any success at this endeavor.
Have you seen these "Warning Tracts" from CARM? LINKFocus on the unchurched lost.
You can witness for a hundred hours to a cultist and maybe, just maybe he might leave his cult. But, you can pass out Warning Tracts to people before they get sucked into a cult. It is easier to prevent people from joining a cult, than it is to get them out. The Warning Tract is VERY effective at inoculating people from joining cults.

If JRG insists on doing this, DeeJay, I would advise simply presenting the gospel and making sure they can defend it.
They should not bother going on the offense against Mormon doctrine.
A teenager going up against a devout, studied Mormon is at risk.
I doubt that you were converted by a teenager.
My advice stands.

Agreed. As a matter of fact, I think this is a good practice with anyone, regardless of their religious background, or lack thereof.Originally posted by Calvibaptist:
The best thing you can do, if you want to engage a Mormon, is to share the Word of God. Don't try to argue their views with them or even try to argue Christianity with them. Most of them know what we believe more than we do. Pray for them. Share the gospel from the Word and leave the results to God. Then pray again.
