How did you arrive at Calvinism?

A priori.
(Just kidding) :)

... I kept diligently studying scripture at the Church of God and finding paragraphs that didn’t fit with what I was being told (but agreed with my personal salvation experience.). Eventually I discovered that what I believed was 4 point Calvinism (the question of who besides me Jesus died for never even occurred to me to ask).

That's interesting about the Church of God experience.
Thanks atpollard.

They usually get closed somewhere over 100 posts anyway.
(Sort of time to start over or everything has been said).

And you need to see Vertigo... see, it is similar.

I don't remember ever seeing that and I've seen Vertigo two times, though it's been probably 20 years since the last time. I can see why you would mention my avatar reminded you of it.

Are you kidding me?
You came out of the woodwork to mock this thread in post #7.
You only came to sow discord.

Calvinists have told me that my lunch on (pick a date) October 23, 2028, has been predetermined by God. Therefore, it's not a stretch for me to post that God predestined people to become Calvinists.

1 Timothy 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Wow, that is rich. A big #2 on that one.

InTheLight,
Let me assist ITL, by offering a translation
You made a comment that this particular forum and this entire board is anti-Calvinist. Because I have history here I can tell you that you are incorrect. There are significantly more Calvinists here than non-Calvinists
.
translation
Many of the non cals have departed because they could not make a biblical case for their positions.

Also, the Calvinists are a louder group and post more frequently.
translation
The Calvinists use formidable scripturally based arguments that the synergists cannot answer.
Most of us non-Cals are weary from the constant rotation of Calvinists that come on here and rehash all the old arguments.
translation
The non cals have no scriptural base other than the usual wresting of 6 verses out of context,
jn3:16, 2 pet3:9 1tim2:4jn12:32, mt23:37,eph1:13-14

This is why I have a numbered guide to the arguments in my signature. Generally speaking we non-Cals rarely rise to the bait anymore.
The numbered guide system is to deflect from the lack of any actual answer.
Five days in and you are already making snide remarks about people on here.
translation
5 days in and you see it first-hand. You are not confused by the tricks being offered rather than scripture

Glad to assist ITL:Redface:Sick:Wink
