I didn't want to be unimaginative like some of you :tongue3: and I thought I was being clever by not using my full name.

The reason I use Big Bossman is becuase he was my favorite professional wrestler of all time. I remember watching him when I was 12 years old. He was a heel (the kind of wrestler that people typically "Boo"), or a bad guy. His gimmick was that he was a prison guard from Cobb County, GA. After winning his matches he would handcuff his beaten opponent to the top rope & use his nightsick on them. His main move was the Bossman Slam (one armed side slam) which was usually delivered as an opponent was running toward him.

Unfortunately, he died in 2004. His real name was Ray Traylor. I thought his best match was against Hulk Hogan in a steel cage in 1989 (on Saturday Night's Main Event). Even though he lost the match, it was entertaining.

If I was a professional wrestler, my style of wrestling would be similar to his. And yes, I would have to be a person that people love to hate (only in the wrestling world).

And Amy Grant's just GREEN with envy about it, too!!
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
My screen name (ktn4eg) heralds back to the early 1990's--before I had internet access, even before I had a computer.

I was very heavily into the hobby of monitoring transmissions on my "Police" scanner, and an organization advertised that for a nominal fee, they would graciously include my name on their roll of folks having a "Registered Monitoring Station." This organization had no connection with the FCC primarily because there is no law [as of yet!] governing the activities of radio monitoring (except for that of cell phone conversations).

AAR, they "awarded" me the pseudo-"call sign" of ktn4eg. This breaks down into four elements:

k -- One of the 4 letters to which transmitting stations licensed by the FCC to operate within the US. (The other 3 ones are a, w & n).

tn -- The official 2-letter USPS abbreviation for the state in which I live, Tennessee.

4 -- Indicates which of the FCC "radio districts" (areas for non-commerical transmitters) Tennessee is located, i.e., TN is in the 4th radio district.

eg -- These letters were "randomly generated" by that organization, (I've often wondered who ktn4ef and ktn4eh might be!)

And so, boys and girls, that's how ktn4eg came to be! :tonofbricks:

I picked the name of a guy I really dislike. Since then I have been on a campaign to sully his good name.

Jimmy is a form of my real first name, James. And Oatway is just a nickname my wife gave me that has nothing to do with my real last name.

She doesn't remember where exactly it came from, but for some reason it stuck.
