But you don’t have to buy a new house for every child. And the children are best suited living in the house their parents live in .
So I don’t think housing should be included in that report.
If it is, it should not include reasonable housing for parents.
A three bedroom home is average and doesn’t necessarily cost more because you have children. The seller isn’t like the hotel manager asking how many people you plan to put in there.
To me housing is not a consideration. I didn’t move out from under the bridge when we had kids. They stayed wherever we lived.

Short answer, I don’t believe the numbers in that article are accurate.
