I used to do a lot of biking - doing trips from Long Island to New England (usually 500 mile trips over 10 days - 8 riding days) with a big group of high school students (up to 70 of them!) with Campus Life/Youth for Christ. Yeah - NOT relaxing I can safely say!! LOL!! I finally gave that up when I got pregnant and haven't ridden my bike since. I'd much rather ride a horse. ;)

If I'm especially tired from operating the old manual engine lathe for eleven hours, I enjoy one or two good imported or micro-brewed ales. All this after a long hot shower however.

    Wow ;) 500 miles over 10 days, that's great!
Youth for Christ is a great organization. They attempted to go on a mission trip to Bangladesh last month but due to problems, it was cancelled. It is rescheduled for March 17th. A few months ago at a church, we heard Peter (The head of the organization I believe) speak. He's a great guy. An acquaintance/ friend of ours works for the organization. We have been praying for the elections over there, and their safe entry on March 17th.
    Small world!

So, Lagardo, what style of karate do you practice? And was the seminar you went to a GMAU one by any chance? And the elderly gentleman Doc Haralson (9th degree black belt)? [IMG]

I used to be in the martial arts (9 1/2 years).
I took Tae Kwon Do and held a black belt standing in different styles:
USTA - Unitied States Tae Kwon Do Alliance (3rd degree SR.) Chang Hun Style
WTF - World Tae Kwon Do Federation (2nd degree)

I enjoyed the stress relief and was very thankful to be under God fearing men teaching an art that is considered in the top 5 of spiritualistic melding into the art form.

Then a drunk drive hit me head on 95 and stopped any further involvment in that part of my life. Now believe it or not for relaxation I try to engage my mind with problem solving - mystery games, movie mysteries. debate boards, ect...
That is not easy anymore since most of it now encompasses the supernatural, mystisism, and occult. But I like the detective type, find clues and solve it things.

I helps step out of the mudane ordinary problems and allows me to see just how thankful I am for those hard but simple problems

Why is this thread in the debate forum?

Seems like it should be somehwere in the fellowship forum.

I know y'all think I'm being picky, but there's a reason we have debate forums and fellowship forums separate. :wavey:
