How does a non-believer make sense of the Bible?

My view is that God is currently confirming His scientific view, which is first shown in Genesis. It's a special message to the people of the last days since they are the first to have the "increased knowledge" or accumulated discoveries of mankind, available to them. Humans today have become cold and callous and will not believe God's Truth in Genesis UNLESS it can be shown to be testable proof. That's where I come in. I show the agreement of Genesis with EVERY other discovered Truth.

However, there must be an explanation of each step made to the BB folks so that we all can examine your work and test it by the Scriptures.

Most of us are educated to some level of understanding and are willing to spend the time working through what you present.

However, you have to also understand that for me to place science discoveries as valuable, they must agree with Scriptures, not Scriptures agree with science.

I don't need Genesis validated by "testable proof."

I expect the Science to be validated by being tested by the Scriptures and then either discarded or held as valid.

Here's the secret to understanding Genesis. Genesis Chapter One is the entire History of God's 6 Days of work in creating the perfect Heaven. Genesis 2:1-3 speaks of a FUTURE 7th Day.

EVERY other verse in the Bible refers BACK to one of God's 7 Days and adds details to the entire History or Outline shown in the first 34 verses of Genesis.

A good example is the fact that Genesis 2:4 takes us BACK to the events of the 3rd Day and adds details of the 3rd Day when Adam was formed from the dust of the ground. Genesis 2:4-9

Are you assuming that the opening sentence of Genesis is presenting that creation was a display of perfection?

Personally, I do not have difficulty with some OT passages presenting a dual view - one in which is specific to that time, and one that projects the scene upon a future date.

However, caution would have us guard against tunnel vision in such a manner that we do not consider that the landscape is not the view from the tunnel but the tunnel may be a part of the landscape.

Genesis 1:2 tells us that these first creation elements contained darkness or death. Everything God would shape or form from them would be subject to death. God's perfection is shown in Genesis 2:1.

Why should there be “proofs of God?”

Does not Genesis state that water covered the earth, and the earth emerged as water was displaced?

The nytimes link doesn’t work.

Chromosome 2 fusion, as I elementarily understand, considers human kind as developed rather than specifically designed, therefore fundamentally a failure. It does not conform to the Scripture statements.

Any consideration in which the veracity of the Scripture is questioned must be discarded.

God made humankind from dust, not water. When humankind die they ultimately return to dust, not water.

Speculation may certainly be fun to engage, but never are the Scriptures to be conformed to speculation.

God is light. In Him is no darkness.

The presence of both no form and darkness compels one to consider God’s creation became violated, confusion and turmoil (tohu, bohu).

The demand, “Let there be light!” was the establishment of Redemption because all that was made was made by Him.

That the oasis was further polluted by one man’s sin, did not diminish that light and life are created by Him.

That believers are a new creation created in (by) Him.

Why should there be “proofs of God?”

There are twice as many people alive today than have ever lived. They are so hardened to God's Truth in the Bible that God has wisely decided to show them irrefutable Truth which agrees with Scripture, and mankind's increased knowledge of science, history, genetics and math, in the last days. God tells us He is going to do this in the last days before Jesus returns.

Act 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh:

The only way to reach the lost unbelievers, who are part of ALL flesh, is to show God's Truth, empirically, literally and testably, with the Truth discovered by mankind in the past 3,000 years. God's Spirit IS the Spirit of Truth, Jhn 16:13 and His Truth AGREES in every way with every discovery of man. God hid this Truth in Genesis for all the people of the last days to find. Daniel 12:4

No. Genesis 1:9-10 shows that God put water into the bottom of the hollow firmament and put ground on top of the water and made a FLAT Earth.

Chromosome 2 fusion happens when an ancient group of Humans (descendants of Adam) produces children with a younger group of the "sons of God" or prehistoric mankind. It happened on Adam's Earth (Cain's wife) "and also after that" Genesis 6:4 when the Ark arrived on the present Earth. Noah's grandsons spread the superior intelligence of Adam to the prehistoric people on this Earth. That's God's Truth Scripturally, scientifically, historically, genetically and mathematically.

Any consideration in which the veracity of the Scripture is questioned must be discarded.

God's Truth supports the veracity of Scripture since it shows us of recent discoveries of mankind which are first shown in Genesis chapter 1. It's testable proof of God. No man could have possibly known of these recent discoveries more than 3,000 years ago. Only God knew.

Amen, and Adam was made with the intelligence of God. Genesis 3:22 "EVERY living creature that moveth" came from water Genesis 1:21 Adam was NOT made of flesh but found himself in a body of flesh AFTER he and Eve sinned. Gen 3:7 Our bodies of flesh are 70% Water. We regain our perfect bodies, like those of Adam and Eve, at the Rapture.

Speculation may certainly be fun to engage, but never are the Scriptures to be conformed to speculation.

Not at this time since darkness or death was upon everything physical. How could God have a perfect Heaven (the object of His Creation) with the creation elements contaminated with Death?

Jesus is the Light of the first Day, that in ALL things He might have the preeminence. Col 1:18

Truth is Truth, whether it is Scriptural Truth authored by the Holy Spirit, or discovered by the minds which God gave to Adam's descendants.

Amen, and neither do I. Christians believe by FAITH in God's Holy Word. For thousands of years now, YEC, by blind Faith in God's Truth, have correctly told Humankind that in 6 Days, God made a perfect Heaven, and then rested. That is God's Truth. Most don't know that we are currently in the 6th Day or Age, in the Day of Salvation. 2Co 6:2 We live today at Genesis 1:27 because God is STILL creating Adam (Hebrew-mankind) in His Image or in Christ Spiritually. Genesis 1:28-31 is prophecy of events at the end of the 6th Day AFTER Jesus returns to this Earth.

Amen. The ToE is a good example. It's NOT scientific fact but instead is a THEORY or assumption of what current facts are leading us to believe. The ToE is nothing but a false assumption of men which does NOT agree with Scripture, science, history, genetics nor math.. God's Truth in Scripture is the Standard by which all the other disciplines must agree. Amen?
