How does your church allow new teachers to start teaching?

Never got to open air today being blocked by a piano player. I open aired last 2 weeks however.
Oh, I thought you meant a piano playing elder was blocking you from teaching at church. Had me scratching my head there for a second.

I take it the piano player is an elder?

No someone in DT Denver was playing the piano and blocked me from open air preaching. I could have started to preach but that would have been rude. I want to watch my testimony and how I conduct myself around the world. But then again Ray Comfort has had complaints about his open air preaching and it interrupting business, and he yelling at people and the like, but he continues to preach, so maybe I should have just preached over the piano player.

Whoever the nominating committee can strong arm into doing the job. I became the teacher of adult Sunday school (20-40) when I was out of town the Sunday before and Sunday of the nominating committee list.
Lol. Sounds like every .mil training meeting ever.

Miss a training meeting and you can just about be guaranteed to be assigned to run every rifle range, PT test, or urinalysis.

:Laugh Me too.

On one hand I was glad he was working in submission to his church but on another I was wondering about Elder Chopin.

Now it's coming together.

Thanks. I get it now.

For a minute I thought Denver was the mile high city...literally....uh...well....never mind. ;)

Apparently I've had a little too much frozen custard.

Piano Man

Now John at the curb is a friend of mine
Whom gives me tracts for free
He's quick with a thread and he’s short of bread
But there's no place that he'd rather be
He says, "I believe, and your songs are killing me."
And the smile ran away from his face
"Well I'm sure that I would be disturbed”
Don’t sing me a song, you're the piano man
Don’t sing me a song tonight
Well, I’m not in the mood for a melody
And you've got me feel-in' spite

La la la, di da da
La la, di da da da dum
It's nine o'clock on a Saturday
The regular crowd shuffles in
There's an Arminian sitting next to me
Need’in saving like rabbits and kin

In my Calvinist Baptist church the philosophy is much different than my wife's IFB church. At this church they have elders and are run that way. New prospects are given position papers to take home and fill out so the elders know where they stand. Then if qualified they allow them to start in the basics as a sub.

My old church as long as you were a member and the pastor liked you he gave you a shot to teach. The problem I had was not when I officially taught but when I did not teach. SS was discussion based and some of my comments introduced Calvinism which the church was against. Also I did not carry a KJV with me when I did not teach which made people uncomfortable.

So how does your church work? My new church does a great job at filtering out heresy and bad teaching. A IFB baptist who is married to a Reformed baptist would not even get a shot to teach here.
We require that the person be a member in good standing for at least 6 months, and that they are "interviewed" by the Pastors/elders as to why they should be considered to teach. Also, go thru age appropiate teaching materials, such as if teaching kids/youth etc!

We [practice the part where paul states to us that a novice in the faith should not be assigned to teach.

Now John is an Apple iPad apologist
Who never had time for his wife
And he's talkin' with JonC, who's a mod on BB
And probably will be for life

And the waitress is picking up dollar tracts
As Mike's Lemonade slowly goes down
Yes, he's having a drink he calls low BAC
It's better than drinkin' Newman's Own.
