But: Between May 30 and June 2 2020, the height of the racial justice protests,
427 "unrest-related" arrests were made in D.C.,

An estimated 14,000 arrests made across 49 U.S. cities during anti-racism protests last summer, according to the Washington Post.
(Note: that is an average of 285 per city)

So 285 per city - vs 52 this past week; does this mean that police were tougher on
the race riots vs the "politics" riots?

I don’t think there will be much of a difference in arrest numbers that are going to point to race issues. Police are going to arrest people that they can identify breaking the law.

I will say the preparation at the Capitol looked a lot different this last Wednesday though. It cost them too.

FBI opens 160 cases related to storming of U.S. Capitol

The assistant director in charge of the field office, Steven D'Antuono, told a media briefing that the FBI had received 100,000 videos and pictures as tips.

U.S. acting Attorney Michael Sherwin said 70 cases have already been charged, and he expects that would grow into the hundreds.
