How many books do you have?

One can own books, say stored in boxes, and have little or no knowledge of what is in them. One can have books sitting on a bookcase in the place where we study, and not actually use them.

I refer to several study bibles, NKJV, NASB, NIV, ESV (not so much anymore) plus on-line I refer to the NET, HCSB, and WEB. I have twoBible Dictionaries, plus an English Dictionary. Next, I have my Exhaustive Concordance (for the NIV). Next, dozens of commentaries. I also have the Manners and Customs reference.

Why do you go to church since you do not want to hear what the pastor has to say since you know more than the pastors?

Why do you constantly ask for our opinions and advice when you never listen to the answers we give you?

Would it make you feel better if I told you I own many books?

Ok, this is my study at home.

But this is only some of my books, I have them all over the house.

I've got a smoking pipe too, makes me look like a real intellectual.

I've been working on this pose for months, what do you think?

Am I acceptable now?

In book form:

• The Institutes by John Calvin....haven't opened it in close to 1.5-2 years though
• Pilgrim's Progess....reading it now...awesome read

Various KJV's in study bibles...Dake's, KJV study bible, several KJV reference bibles, Greek-Hebrew study bible by Spiros Zodhiates(sp?), Hebrew-Greek Interlinears by Jay Green, NIV 1984...not a study bible, ESV study bible....

And several books on my Nook.....

A.W. Pink, CHS, Theodore Austin Sparks, Ryle, Andrew Jukes, just to name a few...though I haven't read any of Pink's books yet....

SERIOUSLY?  The guy who is going to keep spewing his garbage at church, even after his pastor asked him to stop, because he knows better than his pastor, seriously asked this question?

TROLL! :BangHead:

But religious books? Just my two Bibles, although that Matthew Henry commentary and Strong's Concordance might be packed away in a box somewhere. I don't think I threw them out, but we have moved several times since I owned them.

Haven't seen either one in many years.
 We can tell by your posts, Post anything from Matthew Henry and it will break your consecutive error posts record:thumbs:

Edit- I just remembered I have a little hardcover called "I Really Didn't Say Everything I Said" by Yogi Berra. It's a great book full of Yogi's famous comments. What is amazing is that a friend gave this book to me on my birthday, not realizing that Yogi Berra and I were both born on May 12. Really.

That almost makes you likable. I said almost. Don't start the parade just yet.

3000+ that I lost in a house fire. There are very few I feel compelled to replace like Wesley's Complete Works in 26 volumes ($60 a pop ) and a small truckload from another part of my life. I have close to 50 on my laptop.

How could you not like me? Look at my nice smile.

What book do you have and do you read?

Actually, Quantum faith is a mathematical genius who can only read and write formulas with numbers and individual letters and symbols...but can't read words and sentences...Its kind of like daredevil who has super hearing and reflexes, but can't see...that's why he only posts smiley faces...He's a savant whose immense brain power is focused in one tiny area.

...(totally kidding qf...)

I probably have 150-175 in print and numerous others on my Kindle. My wife is always trying to get me sell my books at her yard sales. Anyone else experience this? I have a hard time in getting rid of books.

Also someone in this thread mentioned they have a Dake's Bible. I sure hope the only use it gets is for a door stop or as research on bad theology.

I was hoping he would attempt to solve that system of linear differential equations.......and enlighten me as to the result. :) Been WAY to long since I have done any Laplace Transformations....my world today consists of assisting students who failed to gain basic college level algebra and Pre-Calculus skills. Sorry to say that is approximately 80% of students who begin their college journey at the Community College.

BTW, I am the furthest from being a savant as one can get. If you only knew the effort it took for me to obtain my undergraduate and graduate degrees in math. :)

I probably own less than 40 books. I find the library to be an awesome resource. I read 75-80 books a year, minimum. I also just started to download free e-books from Am-a-zon to my Nexus 7 tablet. What a wonderful way to read a book.

Or to use it as an example of how NOT to make a study bible!
Once had someone give me a Ken Copeland study bile, and its notes made as much sense as Dakes!
