I have several (no I won't give an exact number) in my list.

I'm in the 10-15 range, but some are inactive. I do take people out now and again.

To be added to the list, well...man, you've gotta work at it. Still considering others.

Exactly. It takes numerous personal insults for me to put people on the list. Also monomaniacal devotion to one side of an issue with which I disagree.

Gosh, I guess I'm too lazy to use the feature. :sleeping_2:

If I know someone's pattern of posting well enough to know that I probably don't want to read what they have to say - then I just skip their posts.

I have only formally ignored two people on another website due to the fact that one was a militant atheist masquerading as a fundamentalist Christian and was mocking God and the other claimed to be saved, but was always provoking people into arguments - intentionally. I got tired of even knowing they posted at all. I haven't been on that website in quite a while.

Someone quote me so that the people who have ME on ignore can see what I said. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmmm, why do I have a feeling those who have none (8 of them) are the ones IN CHARGE of this board or who go to a church of those who are in charge?

I mean if you are "IN CHARGE'...then you have all the power so you have no need to ignore...all you have to do is call on your pose to back you up and do what you can to get rid of the person.

So really this poll means nothing.

NOW LET THE ATTACKS ON ME BEGIN.....
I have never put anyone on ignore. I'm not in charge nor do I know the people in charge.

I've been here almost 7 yrs and have been called names and insulted many times but I figure if I can't take the heat I need to get out of the kitchen, not whine about how mean people treat me. Maybe you should do the same?

I have 9 ex-members on my current ignore list. I have 5 current ones. Mostly because of nasty private messages I was getting.

Because you like to jump to conclusions without researching facts?

The moderators are listed in the far right column of the Baptist Board home page. If you click on their screen names, their home city and/or home state is listed. It would be a simple matter to pull together a list and see if the eight you identified are moderators or are in the same city as the moderators. Did you do that?

I mean if you are "IN CHARGE'...then you have all the power so you have no need to ignore...

If you are a moderator and someone rubs you the wrong way, insults you, or takes ludicrous positions why not put them on ignore?

all you have to do is call on your pose [sic] to back you up and do what you can to get rid of the person.

Can't the board owner or a moderator simply ban or take away posting privileges should they desire?

So really this poll means nothing.

The poll is a set of data. Data always means something.

Hang on, I need to form a posse...

Nobody's on mine. I see little point in it.

I think Poncho's ignore list is about to get longer, however.

Don't have anyone on ignore, but if I did do it I would tell them, "You're now on ignore". Same with reporting nasty posts, I tell them up front, "I'm reporting this post".

Never used the ignore feature on any board that I've frequented over the years. While I know it isn't the same thing, there's something about using it that reminds me of limiting freedom of speech.

Hi Oldtimer,

Doesn't Freedom of Speech include freedom from speech?

There ya go Scarlett!

:tongue3: :flower:

That used to drive me crazy on the other forum - oh, well, I might as well say it - the old FFF.

I had a couple of fruitcakes on ignore and people that I did interact with would quote them all of the time, so my putting them on ignore was moot!

I have none, but you are sorely tempting me to make you the first one.

I Tried it, BUT.....

I was reading a thread recently where there were several posters that happened to be in my Ignore List. Do you use the Ignore List? How many people are in your Ignore List?

.....curiosity got the best of me, and dying to know what those people were saying to others about me, ended in my removing them from the list.

Like wax on a car hood, I've learned how to let the criticism roll off and unto the ground below me [where it belongs]. After all, when you are great; right all the time; and know just about all there is to know about everything in life...who needs to ignore those who try to knock you off the hill of supremacy!:laugh:

OF COURSE, this is all in jest, except for the part where I am smart, good looking, and superior to most of my peers

THEN again, if any one would like me to place them on my IGNORE list, please apply. You must prove to me that you are the most annoying person on the face of this earth; totally absurd in how you think and rationalize things; an extreme, leftist, bleeding-heart liberal that loves Obama more than God. That might get you on my list.....Shalom!!!!

In six years or so, I have never used the ignore button. This is a debate board, and if someone goes over the line, the moderators take care of the poster. My feeling is, if you cannot stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

ITL, actually monomaniacal devotion is about the only reason I have hit the ignore button.

I am usually very firm in my beleifs - both spiritual and political. However, I am willing to (and have done so in the past) change my views when warranted.

I do like to hear the other side of an issue and try to see the good in any issue. But some folks - its simply "GO or NO GO"
I say lets take the best of everything.....

None. However for the most part I stay out of many of the debates that get hot, because most people have their minds made up. As a professor told me in seminary in most debates on theology any of the many sides can come up with Scripture to back their view. And he would say there is holes in all of our views, when we get to heaven we might find out the other fellow was closer than we are.

Go to your User CP and then down on the left hand side, there is something about the Ignore List or something like that. :)

Thanks, Ann, I found it.

I confess that I don't have anybody on the list for a perverse reason. When I see some being ugly, I feel pretty self-righteous, knowing that I'm acting much nicer that they are, therefore am much more likeable.

I am also very proud of my humility.
