The poll should be anonymous, so you can vote without boasting about yourself or being one who has never read it cover to cover. Be honest with your vote, telling Christians to be honest scratch that please vote. I would like an accurate account. I am just curious.

How many times have you read the Holy Bible cover to cover.

Is it important?

Can you live on pieces of bread others feed you?

This is difficult for me to answer, as I do not follow a daily reading plan and never have. I have read every book of the Bible, some many times, some not so much. I don't think I have read Song of Solomon but maybe once or twice, but I have read Revelation or the gospels many dozens of times.

I always read the KJB.

For the past several years (a lot more than 5 but I don't remember how many exactly) I've been using Nelson's The Daily Devotional Bible (my copy happens to be KJV) that takes you through the whole Bible in one year.

My copy's format is usually two chapters of the OT (starting with Genesis), a reading from the Psalms (either an entire Psalm or a portion of one [starting with Psalm 1]), a reading from Proverbs (starting in Proverbs 1), and then usually a chapter (or portion of a chapter) in the NT starting with Matthew 1.

There are many other "one year" Bibles available in many translations. While none of them are a substitute for in depth Bible study, I find mine useful for devotional purposes. After so many years of using it, it's also helpful in giving me a good overall survey of God's Word. I'd heartily recommend every Christian getting one to supplement their personal devotional activities.

(BTW, since this year is a leap year, I'm actually a day ahead in my daily readings. I've completed the Pentateuch and have just started in Joshua, I'm in Psalm 41 and Proverbs 13, and will complete Luke 8.)

I find reading a different translation refreshes the truths in my mind and deepens my study of the Scriptures.

I follow a Bble reading plan that leads me to read the Bible through every year. I read 2-3 chapters from the O.T. and about 30 verses from the N.T. each day. I have done this for about the past 18 years. I started with the NIV, but switched quite early on to the NKJV. I did one year with the KJV and then switched back.

I think it is helpful to read the whole BIble systematically because it helps one to see the whole sweep of it, and also its unity.

I don't know how many times I have read the Bible in bits and pieces. I am on my third time through going cover to cover. I use different translations. This time I am reading the NKJV Chronological Study Bible. I am going slower this time but in the past I simply read 3 chapters a day and read through the Bible in a year.

I too enjoy different translations so far the NKJB, KJB, NIV old and new and the NASB. It to brings me more understanding into the language. The index is a useful tool. It also gives you what else it can be translated to, what other transcript has omitted, great references to like verses. There is so much to explorer.

I did Spurgeons daily devotional and through the Bible with J. Vernon McGee shhh he is not a Baptist but a Presbyterian. I haven't really done a reading plan, just cover to cover.

I do believe God put the scripture together in a order for a reason and I like read it that way. That is just me.

I have read the Bible through many times. I have used the Baptist Study Bible, the New English Bible and am currently using the ESV Study Bilble and I may have read it through with the KJV too but I am not sure.

It is such a weird poll though, MANY people (myself included) do not read it: "Cover to Cover" that way. Each book numerous times? yes. Studying each book systematically while having read it numerous times? yes. Genesis to Revelation just to claim you did it once at least? yes, got little out of doing it that way though, and I don't encourage "cover to cover" so to speak. All books are important, and should be read/studied. That is probably why too few people have voted.

I did read it in order, but each poll say's read the Holy Bible. Cover to cover does it really mean in order or a plan that will get you to read it cover to cover?

I wouldn't read any book at different parts of it. To read the climax or the conclusion without seeing how it got to that you miss out on all things that brought it to that point and why does it have to be that way.

There is nothing wrong with getting into deep studies with others with the scripture out of order, but I think everyone who could should read it in the order God put it, but that is my opinion.

I don't mind if the poll opens up to a plan that will get you to read it cover to cover.

It's sad you've read Gods Word cover to cover and didn't get much out of it.

There's nothing wrong with Gods people reading the Bible cover to cover so they can claim they've done it, in fact, they should be able to claim this. It's even more shameful that many of Gods people rarely pick up their Bible at all, let alone that most have never read the entire Bible.
