48 for me still remember the joy that I had on that day wow how great it was and then I was baptized the preachers son called me a baby and I got defensive. Didn't realize I was a baby in Christ.

Seventy-one years. I realized Christ as Saviour at confirmation in the Church of England. I became a baptist when I decided to enter the ministry. I was immersed during that period.

There was never a time when I didn't believe in Christ, but there was that special moment, during confirmation classes, I realized my need to receive Christ as a personal Saviour. It wasn't dramatic or sensational. It just was.

It was the Plymouth Brethren who convinced me about baptism, but they did not have a full time ministry, and I wasn't convinced of their dispensationalism. I wasn't sure about baptists, but I was sure about what Spurgeon wrote. I was a dedicated calvinist, as was he, and that was good enough to lead me in that direction. I became a convinced baptist in 1958 when I left the military, where I had to serve Anglicanism.

Cheers,

Jim

Great to hear that 71 years, Brother Jim. Praise the Lord!

I was saved in 1955 at age 4, so 55 years for me.

May 24th will make 4 wonderous years for me. Praise Him for saving a wretch like me!!

Still a babe compared to the first of us in this thread, not meant as anything but a comment. Just like folks who have been married for 10 years in comparison to my wife and I they are short timers. Just my sense of humor some like it some don't my wife doesn't.

I'll be 60 in June, and I was saved when I was 11, so that'll be 49 years. I remember the place almost like it was yesterday. I was in my bedroom, doing my Sunday School lesson for church, and I just realized that I needed to be saved. I called for my mom, and she knelt beside my bed with me, and I asked God to forgive me and save me. God opened my eyes, I guess, and I knew I was lost and needed Him. I don't know why, it does bother me a little now, but I don't remember what month or day it was. I guess that wasn't something an 11 year old thinks about. Anyway, God knows the day!

A combined 647.5 years think about that. With all of us we have had New Life for longer than any of the Apostles lived. Now think of this according to Jewish calender today is Iyar 17, 5771. if you look at that on a time line it is all just a spec.

We have this many combined years of experience. This many years of study and yet so many different doctrinal beliefs from Preterist, amillinist and dispensatioanlist. Form having an old sin nature to not having one.

With all these years of christian experience study and faith we do agree on the most important of all doctrines, salvation is by Grace through Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His effacacious work opn the cross.

So you would think we can find common ground on most issues. From this experience we should be able to find unity in the Spirit and not call name nor label folks because of their doctrinal beliefs. This much experience, Christian faith and life we who have over 30 years should be more tolerant of those who are babes and get along in peace with each other.

Other thoughts on the years of Christian life and experience?
