How Math Proved the Bible's Authority...

In Four of the five Books of Moses, every fiftieth letter spells out the word Torah. In the first two Books of Moses, Torah is spelled forwards, with every fiftieth letter. In the last two books of Moses, Torah is spelled backwards with every fiftieth letter.

In the Book of Leviticus, it's even more amazing, where every seventh letter spells out the name of God, YHWH. Just as Leviticus is located at the center of the Torah, every seventh letter in Leviticus reveals the Torah's true center, the ineffable name of God.

The first five books of the Bible (the books of Moses) are known as the Torah. In Hebrew the word Torah is represented by the consonants
tword.gif
. Hebrew is read right from left, so the letters
tword.gif
are equivalent to the English letters "TORH."

In the Hebrew text of the book of Genesis, if you take the first ("T"), then count 49 letters, the next letter (the 50th) is ("O"); the next 50th is ("R"); and then the next 50th is ("H"). In other words, after the first "T", in 50 letter increments, we find the letters spelling "Torah."

In the book of Exodus, we encounter the same result...

In the fourth book of the Torah, the book of Numbers, we discover this 49 letter interval works with "HROT," that is, TORH backwards. (See Figure 2)

A similar 49 letter interval also appears in the fifth book the Torah, the book of Deuteronomy. However, in the book of Deuteronomy the interval starts in the fifth verse instead of the first. Why the fifth verse? According to the Talmud the book of Deuteronomy doesn't begin until the fifth verse where it states "On the other side of the Jordan, in the land of Moab, Moses undertook to expound the Torah..."1

In the middle book, the book of Leviticus, it doesn't seem to work either way. But it does work for YHWH, the sacred name of God ("Yahweh" or "Jehovah," translated "LORD" in the King James Version), if you count in seven letter increments. (See Figure 3)

According to mathematician Daniel Michaelson:

“The number 50 has several important meanings in Judaism. Every fiftieth year is a jubilee year; the Torah was given 50 days after the Exodus from Egypt, and there are 50 gates of wisdom.”4

Professor Michaelson continues:

“At this point, a skeptical reader would exclaim that the whole system is nothing but a coincidence… ‘I’m sure,’ this skeptic would continue, ‘you would be able to find such words and systems in any book.'”

In his article, Codes in the Torah, professor Michaelson addresses in detail the mathematical probability of these Torah codes and concludes that “the probability of such a coincidence is about one in three million!”

Daniel Michelson was born in Riga, Latvia, in 1949 to parents who survived the Holocaust. In 1971 he graduated in Mathematics from Moscow University and emigrated to Israel. From 1972-1980 he taught Mathematics at Tel Aviv University, studied toward a doctorate and served in the army. Upon completing his PhD thesis in Applied Mathematics in 1980, he did postdoctoral research at the University of California at Los Angeles. In 1983 he was awarded fellowships from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and from the Igal Alon Foundation.
In the fall of 1983 Michelson returned to Israel and started to teach at the Hebrew University. There he learned about the codes in the Torah from his colleague and friend Dr. Eli Rips. This led him eventually, he says, "to do t'shuva". Later he became involved in researching the Torah codes and lecturing about them (particularly in Los Angeles and Berkeley, California). Currently, Michelson is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at UCLA and at the Hebrew University. He lives now in Har Nof, Jerusalem, with his wife and three sons.

One of the first code breaking jobs of one of our best code breakers of WWII was supposed to find coded information in the print of documents. However, she and her to be husband discerned there was no code, and that the so called supporting evidence was agenda driven. God's inspired message can be found in a straightforward understanding of the message conveyed by the inspired word meanings.

I think there's a difference between mining the Torah for references to the Kennedy assassination and seeing something more way obvious. Every fiftieth letter in four of the five Books of Moses spells out Torah or it doesn't. Every seventh letter in Leviticus spells out YHWH or it doesn't.

I don't think there is a difference at all.

Do you know the Hebrew language like the back of your hand. Could you be a translator?

How do you KNOW this is true? Have you done the counting with a learned ability to speak Hebrew?

IF this is true, why has no one seen it before?

I don't believe it.

The so-called "Bible code" claims have long been debunked. Just see the Wikipedia entry on "Bible Code" for some details, or Google the phrase and see the refutations of such claims pop up in great numbers. One respectable Jewish source even called it "the lie that just won't die."

yet another thread that is pointless! The ONLY way that any Christian accepts the Holy Bible in its 66 Books, as THE WORD of Almighty God, is by the conviction given by God the Holy Spirit, The Author of the Original Autographs.

Are there any Hebrew scholars on this forum? If not, could you please point me to a Hebrew scholar who has debunked this?

Like the question to TR-only people, "Which TR?", the question here is "Which Hebrew OT text?", since every edition differs — particularly in relation to the presence or absence of the matres lectionis or so-called vowel consonantal letters.

Just one change in one word would throw all subsequent equidistant letter counts off — and there are hundreds if not thousands of such possible cases among the various printed editions, not to mention individual manuscripts.

It doesn't take a Hebrew scholar or a rocket scientist to see the issue clearly. So unless one claims specific "inspired autograph perfection" in some single manuscript or printed edition, the whole claim is bogus from the get-go.
