Luke 24:27 --And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.
Is it appropriate in a sermon to say that any OT text you happen to be preaching on is definitly a foreshadowing of some aspect of Christ or NT realites?
For Example, in Job, when he gets all his stuff & family back, Even though there is nothing in the bible specifically saying so, is it appropriate to preach that "this IS an allusion to the new heaven and new earth, when Christ makes everything new?
Or when Job prays for his friends..."This is a foreshadowing of Christ praying for us."
Or would it be better to say "This reminds me of..." "or This COULD BE a foreshadowing.
If you thing the first is appropriate, is there any limit to this kind of OT interpretation?
