Conservative Christianity?

Russell Moore and Tim Keller are both quite conservative.
Not at all, they are moderates.

It is only in the era of Trump that upholding basic biblical morality has been equated with "liberalism." That simply shows the depravity of those who have rejected basic decency.
No, I think it also occurred in the era of Elijah laughing at the pagans and saying that Baal must be on the toilet. Or in the era of John the Baptist, or the era of Moses. If there is one thing God isn't, it's our current culture's definition of "decent", which means pushover and secular.

CCW for self and others protection.
I open carry a pair of corn-fed country boy overalls, a big bushy beard, a deep southern drawl and a stink eye. That scares most of the riff raff off.

Sometimes I've got a double stack 9 too, but in my county there's minimal if any violent crime, so that's mostly only if I leave my county.

I am 6'4' and 260 lbs but still don't want to be a backstop for a .45. I also travel, usually between Virginia and Tennessee, both rural and in most cases safe. Concerning me, my wife tells me the only thing you can do with ugly is cover it up so I try to comply.

“Because of the opprobrious epithet "liberal," today they call themselves "moderates." A skunk by any other name still stinks.”

I carry the Holy Spirit, use wisdom in where I go, and trust God's word that I cannot die until God ordains it. I have little use for guns other than to scare off a squirrel from the bird feeder with an old fashion BB gun.

I'd add for fishing. I don't now, but next year I may carry one for alligators. A few kayakers and walkers had closed calls this past year.

I don't mind going when it's my time. I'd just rather it not be death by alligator.

Wow, wonder how that would have worked for Reynolds when he went on some his swat team raids?

Here's a fun fact: YHWH is a dictator. He is a Sovereign King of all kings and He does as He wills with no one to accuse Him of wrong doing.
Read your response above and see what you are rejecting. It should cause you to tremble that you wrote those words. Be extremely grateful that God is a merciful God because your distain for His Supremacy deserves His immediate response which would end badly for you.
Why would I tremble for calling God a God of love, who is patient, long-suffering, kind, had agape love, who tells us that the way to overcome evil is with good. With kindness, gentleness. Who not only TOLD us these things, but SHOWED by practice these things, with his greatest gift of love to the word. Sending his son. He practiced what he preached.

He proved through the law that telling people what to do will not keep us from being evil. If anything, it causes lawlessness to increase. But that it is love which not only is a light that comes only from God. But a light to the world. A light to be used to draw people to God..

If anything, you should be the one who is trembling that you make God the author of Evil. That you make God who is a hypocrite. Because he not only created evil. And through his dictatorship. Has people doing the evil things, then punishing them for doing the very thing God had them do.

There is no hope in your fatalism my friend. Why it may sound good to the flesh. It is not the way of God who who and what God is.

I carry a S&W shield 2 9 mil. I carry mostly to protect my family and loved ones. But also. Being retired military, and spending 1/4 of my life serving my country. I learned to protect others in any way i can. If I am in a place and someone comes and shoots the place up and kills a bunch of people while I sat and did nothing. I do not think saying it was Gods will for those people to die. Or that it was Gods soverign desire that that ,an or woman came and killled all those people. Would help my spiritual conscience of love that God gave me when he made me his son, that I could have saved some or many of those people lives if I acted. Nor the thought of facing God and him telling me he put me there because he knew that evil was going to happen. So I could act and help save many people.

Do you understand that the law was only for the chosen people of God under the Mosaic Covenant? The rest of the world was wiped out without mercy.
In a different thread I explained that God's Sovereignty and God's holiness are perfectly compatible, yet free willers continually attempt to destroy God's Sovereignty because they cannot see how both Sovereignty and holiness co-exist.
Truly Paul's words are directed at you.
*Romans 9:19-24*
You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?” But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory— even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?

As to the second part of your story, it reminds me of the emotional rollercoaster I once lived in. Since I thought that I was completely in control, I either lived in pride or despair as I constantly evaluated my actions to see if I lived up to the standards God demanded (free will bows to the law and legalism). If I met the standards, I could feel good about myself and look down on others (kind of like an extreme holiness person here who thinks he can threaten a person's salvation) and if I fell short of the standard I could beat myself up and live in despair for my constant failure. In either case, it was all about me, me, me and really not about God at all.
How long do you desire to ride your rollercoaster?

You need to study more my friend

The law was a tutor which was given to lead people to Christ. Not Only Israel. But everyone. Israel was supposed to take that law and show the world their plight. Because the law proved all under sin.

I believe in Gods soverignty.

I reject that God goes against his own character. And is the author of evil.

As for the rest f the world being wiped out. Thats funny as those very people where the people Paul spoke to in Romans 9 - 11.

I suggest you restudy romans 9 - 11 without your preconcieved idea of what you think it says, as God to open your eyes. You will see a far different approach will render a far different view. One that more glorifies God and shows us why things happened, are happening and will happen from Gods point of view concerning the world

Those outside of Israel were not under the law. Yet, they were condemned as well.
*Romans 6:15-23*
What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Note that the Jews were held under the law and the Mosaic Covenant. All humanity is blessed, not by the Mosaic Covenant, but by the Abrahamic Covenant. Therefore Paul curses the Judaizers who were attempting to force Gentiles to live under the law, which only condemns and does not deliver anyone.

*Galatians 3:15-29*
To give a human example, brothers:even with a man-made covenant, no one annuls it or adds to it once it has been ratified. Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ. This is what I mean: the law, which came 430 years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void. For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by promise; but God gave it to Abraham by a promise. Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise had been made, and it was put in place through angels by an intermediary. Now an intermediary implies more than one, but God is one. Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law. But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed. So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.
