4. Claim that protests against you are highly organized and that these people must be stopped.

5. Claim to be more popular than you really are. Hold rallies in smallish venues so the crowds will overspill the facilities. Brag about the size of your crowds.

6. Hire people to applaud and loudly praise you at rallies and speech giving events.

7. Hype the polls that show your popularity; ignore or discredit polls that show you to be unpopular.

8. Blame other government entities for the failure of your policies.
