How to convince a Christian to vote 3rd party?

But does that mean we must do, as I believe you are advocating, that we should vote for Socialist A because you believe he is not quite as socialistic as Socialist B?
No, it means we must not sacrifice the future of the country for taking a meaningless stand to make a statement no one will here. The is the old "forest falling in a tree." No one will hear it and so it won't make a difference.

When you vote for Peroutka, you are casting a vote that will allow John Kerry to appoint pro abortion judges to life terms on the bench. That is completely unacceptable for a believer to cast such a vote, IMO. The money will come and go. But the lives won't. And Peroutka will not be able to do anything about it ...

If by voting for the pro-life, God-fearing candidate it is God's will that Senator Kerry becomes president, then may God's will be done.

No is advocating that in this thread. We are advocating limited, constitutional government as established by the founders of these United States - men like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, etc.

KenH - a Christian who is no longer duped by the idea that voting for "the lesser of two evils" is acceptable behavior in his walk with Jesus.

If he was God-fearing, he would do away with this stupid idea of christianizing america. That isn't the role of the church. It isn't the job of government to enforce Christianity. Peroutka is just another embittered ex-republican because society is getting worse. Oh wait, it is supposed to get worse. Paul said it would. Peroutka is clueless.

I pray for President Bush just as I prayed for President Clinton before him. I don't limit my prayers based on politics.

I don't think Bush is the lesser of two evils. As far as his role, Bush is a fine president. Peroutka wants the troops home. That is code for: I want a neutered military because I lack the spine to be a real leader.

I guess you disagree with the Great Commission.

Anyway, we are not discussing that. I am sorry that you do not want limited, constitutional government, and that you are apparently satisfied with the continued movement toward socialism in government in this nation and the continued attacks on even mentioning God or His commandments or His Word in public discourse in these United States.

Joseph.

What is a more biblical approach to the war on terror... to let 4 million abortions happen on your watch while you head off to deal with the evil of men who live in foreign lands? or... to honor God first above all else, and to look to the evil in our own country first?

Nevertheless I can see you will most likely never be convinced by me or anything I say... Take your 6 questions to God.. If he can't answer them for you.. then you must do as you must do.

The great commission is about making disciples, not establishing the New Testament as the rule for lost people. A christianized society is still a society going to hell.

So you don't want our borders protected? So you want more federal control of education? So you want more federal control of health care?

And that is the very definition of Christianizing - making disciples of Jesus.

But we are discussing a return to limited, constitutional government - a return which you apparently oppose.

Lost people who live like christians are no better off. I am against anyone who undermines my job as a preacher to see actual conversions. Peroutka is not doing the work of God. He is clueless.

Romans 14:4 (ESV)
Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

He isn't exercising liberty Ken, he is cluelessly going about life. He thinks he is the only one who has read the constitution.

If Mr. Peroutka isn't going to matter in the election according to ya'll, why don't ya'll let us Peroutka supporters have our say and just ignore us? All ya'll are doing is giving us more chances to talk about, and prove, why Mr. Peroutka is a better candidate for conservatives to vote for than is Mr. Bush.

Take a good look at what is going on in Israel, because that is exactly what will be happening here if we follow that course of action.

There was only one terrorist attack on US soil during Clinton's watch too, it was also on the WTC. Does only having one attack mean that the President has a good defense policy?

We will never defeat the enemy, because we can never stop terrorism. There will always be people who want to destroy America, we need to focus on our borders and our defense, not chasing terrorist around the world.

I don't really try to convince anyone to vote 3rd party, I encourage people to vote for the best conservative candidate regardless of their party. The reason most Christians won't vote for a 3rd party is because the vote out of fear, either fear of Kerry winning the election, or fear of terrorist. I choose not to live my life in fear, but to vote based on principles, if other Christians wish to continue voting out of fear that is between them and God.
