Take these two translations of the same passage (this is not a translation thread, so mod's please don't move it there). What are these verses actually saying? I have never been real clear as to the meaning of it in context of the chapter. Please give feedback...
ESV 1Co 7:13 If any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever, and he consents to live with her, she should not divorce him.
1Co 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is made holy because of his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy because of her husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.
1Co 7:15 But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved. God has called you to peace.
1Co 7:16 Wife, how do you know whether you will save your husband? Husband, how do you know whether you will save your wife?
HCSB 1Co 7:13 Also, if any woman has an unbelieving husband, and he is willing to live with her, she must not leave her husband.
1Co 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the Christian husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy.
1Co 7:15 But if the unbeliever leaves, let him leave. A brother or a sister is not bound in such cases. God has called you to peace.
1Co 7:16 For you, wife, how do you know whether you will save your husband? Or you, husband, how do you know whether you will save your wife?
