Huh?

Take these two translations of the same passage (this is not a translation thread, so mod's please don't move it there). What are these verses actually saying? I have never been real clear as to the meaning of it in context of the chapter. Please give feedback...

ESV 1Co 7:13 If any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever, and he consents to live with her, she should not divorce him.
1Co 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is made holy because of his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy because of her husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.
1Co 7:15 But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved. God has called you to peace.
1Co 7:16 Wife, how do you know whether you will save your husband? Husband, how do you know whether you will save your wife?

If one has an unbelieving spouse who wants to live with them how does one know it isn't God's will that they stay there lest they get saved. If they want to leave, let them because the burden of choice for stayling or leaving is to rest only on the lost. A saved person who leaves their spouce has more of a testamony to lose than one who is lost. But, keeping them together will set a good example for their children.
Do not get confused with the terms "holy" and "sanctified." The terms simply mean "separate" or "set apart." any time one sees these terms, the context must define them more. They are set apart for a lifetime of being exposed with the Gospel where the Holy Spirit can intervene in a more effectual way. Do not always confuse terms to mean "salvation."

The words "sanctified," "make holy," "set apart." and "saint" are all related by the same root word. By one believing spouse the family is set apart from families that have no believers. I believe a good example of this is in the family of Timothy. His mother (and grandmother) were believers, but his father was an unsaved Greek. And yet they were set apart from the others, inasmuch as Timothy became one of the Godliest men known in Scripture, a man mightily used of God. God set apart that family in spite of the unsaved father.
