I have thought of why the Bible describes human behavior so well. Of course it is the words of God and God is wise. But why do non Christians show so much behavior that so closely parallels the Bible, especially Old Testament behavior . I mean the scapegoat in Lev 16:21, the parallels to the Flood in the environmental movement, the way people try escape some sort of guilt by works and so on.

Lately I been thinking that since God have made us, he also implanted a feeling of sin our life, a longing for God, and a fear of judgment. That many people are in a way called to God by human nature but tries to solve it by there own without God and will therefore one day face the judgment they are afraid of, but not being being born again children of God.

My question if there is a Biblical answer to this, and if you may have an explanation.

I think you answered your own question in the second sentence. :laugh:

The bible, especially as you say, the Old Testament, is a huge desciptor of a Holy God's day-to-day relationship with sinful man.

The reason that nonChristians show so much behavior that parallels biblical ideas is that the bible is full of passages of nonChristians and Christians trapped in sin who need God.

The bible, especially the Old Testament law, is nothing more than a spiritual mirror showing humanity as is truly is.

You lost me here. What parallels do you see in these two? The scapegoat? What parallel is there other than the fact that our modern understanding of what a "scapegoat" is comes from the Bible

God didn't "implant" a feeling of sin in our lives. Mankind received that feeling when they rebelled in the Garden and sin entered.

Now, everyone is born with a sin nature.

Hi, Psalm 95.

Yes, God did implant certain things in our lives: 1) Ecc 3:11 -- "...he hath set the world [eternity] in their heart,..." Man has awareness of something beyond this life -- of the eternity of their souls.

2) We have "knowledge of good and evil" which we "inherit" from Adam and Eve. But clearly it is both that we have today. In the Garden, Adam only knew good -- in the world, he was introduced to evil/corruption that we also see today.

3) As soon as we knowingly sin (Rom 7:9), we have awarenes (through our soul/conscience) that we are "dead" to God. We get into this because we are born with survival instincts which develop, through wrongful exercise, into "sin nature." Our cry for what we NEED becomes our cry for what we WANT (SELFish will develops).

4) We DO have need of a God -- a "Parent" who gives us what we NEED and directs our wants/wills into righteousness and goodness and life. Intellectually (in our spirits), at first, we realize our own shortcomings and frailties. But the Spirit, witnessing even through nature, tells us that good can come of all creation, even us. These longings are the genesis of God's drawing and our seeking God/a god.
