If you don't hear from me for a while (stop that clapping!) don't worry. Just a few little sprinkles and some gentle breezes coming my way. :D:D:D

This is just for clarification!!!

Harvey is NOT a hurricane
Harvey is now a Him-A-Caine

Hopefully it will turn north after landfall some time late this evening. But even if it misses us entirely we will have several inches of rain and winds up to 60-70 miles per hour.

You look to be on the left side, making wind a somewhat lesser concern, though 70 mph gusts would be nasty. My prayer is that the storm would keep moving, so no one suffers thru 3 days of tropical downpours.

The storm seems to be turning north, north, west, which means the worst of it will probably miss us. Landfall is now being predicted around Corpus Christi, which is about 100 miles northeast of me. But the storm is about 500 miles across so there is plenty for everybody. :)

The good news is that the winds are dropping a bit, down to around 100 mph.

Is Hurricane Harvey any relation to Hurricane Harry, one of the villains on Cool McCool?

I was going to start a thread to ask this, but I'll ask in this one first. If I'm interested in helping with disaster relief, do I just contact the red Cross? Or is there someone else to get ahold of?

If you are with a SBC church - they have a lot of disaster relief assistance.
