Jesus told us to treat our wife as He would treat the church. So, what do you do to make the work around the house a little lighter for your wife, who has the major role in tending to the kids while you are off to work, or out doing man things [hunting, gold, bowling, watching football, tinkering with your old car project and makeover]?

My wife was a forensic accountant, so she takes care of all of the finances. I was raised in kitchens, as our family owned a couple of restaurants when I was a kid, and so I handle most of the cooking.

I think when it comes to housework, my wife would tell you that the best thing I can do to help is to stay out of the way.

I do most everything outside the house and, for some reason, I've always found it very relaxing to do laundry (no ironing, though).

I work out of a home office so I do everything on that list and much more. "Cook a few meals" is actually 6 or 7 meals per week.

Whichever ladies magazine has told women to tell their man that doing household chores is sexy was obviously deluded.

Seeing that I am currently unemployed and my wife works full time, I have plenty of time to most of the household chores, which I don't mind at all.

I even did all the cooking and dishes for all meals yesterday so my wife could enjoy a relaxing day off. To quote her, she was "in heaven!"

I love my wife to pieces and if doing a few extra things around our home will make her day, then I'm all for it.

:)

I pretty much do whatever I can do that I see needs to be done when I get home from work.

I do several above even though in our home Most of those, except mowing the lawn, are her 'typical' tasks. My wife is a stay at home wife and I work shift work (12 hour days, 15-20 days a month, rotating between days and nights) so my main contribution is work and whatever small things I can do to help on my days off.

We all chip in whenever something needs to be done. Except dusting. That's woman's work.
