New Study Shows 84 Percent Decrease in Hospitalization Rates for COVID-19 Patients Treated with Hydroxychloroquine - Big League Politics

A new study has demonstrated that treating COVID-19 with hydroxychloroquine makes patients 84 percent less likely to be hospitalized.

The study is set to be published in the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents in December. It has determined that “low-dose hydroxychloroquine combined with zinc and azithromycin was an effective therapeutic approach against COVID-19.”

You do know there is a reason you don't hear anything good about hydroxychloroquine in the MSM.

Gotta agree. A friend of mine is very liberal and she doesn’t believe that Big Pharma would lie in order to jack up the price. In reality, it is good that HCQ is so effective. I don’t think that it is being used here in central Indiana. Most people never heard of it. Hopefully, Biden will allow it to be sold over the counter.

It's not really a study to be so very excited about.

1) It's a retrospective case study (one of the weaker study types; they can be rather easy to manipulate and leave many questions unanswered)

2) Only 141 patients were includes in the study - not exactly a huge amount of data!​

The study itself notes:

"Inherent to all retrospective analyses, our study has certain limitations, such as non-randomisation and blinding of treatment. Also, only the outcome data of the untreated control group based on the public reference were available; because no other data on patient characteristics or clinical symptoms were available, no risk adjustment was possible. Therefore, confounding factors and selection bias, among other issues, might exist. The demographic composition of the treatment group might also have had an influence on our findings. Because many physician appointments had to be managed by telehealth, vital parameters were not available for the majority of patients. Viral load and electrocardiogram (ECG) data were not analysed. Treatment with the triple therapy resulted in a numerically lower rate of all-cause death. In the absence of clinical details about the untreated patient group, the lower rate of all-cause death in the treated group was not statistically significant."

Hospital physicians are not jumping on board with the chloroquines;
Treatment standardization uses other more trustworthy medications.

I dont think so. Fauci is still fighting the idea of using it. Why would biden go against Fauci?
This is not medical science, it is politics. Biden would not want to legitimize anything Trump did. Biden says Trump mismanaged everything about covid/ You can not reason with unreasonable people.

Oh, I forgot about Fauci. He wields power outside if his office simply because no one aspires to be a government doctor. He and Biden must be about the same age.

It will never make it past the FDA, even as an over-the-counter drug. There are some fatal consequences for certain susceptible individuals and many adverse side-effects.
Even if by chance it was approved, the drug would never make it past the local pharmaceutical committees that approve the medications to be used in a hospital (I spent a few days in the hospital recently and even some well proven drugs such as my cholesterol medication, Crestor, have not passed the committee).
