    And let me put in a good word for O Love that Will not Let Me Go.

    Another Falls Creek experience.

    Arise, my soul, arise; shake off thy guilty fears;
    The bleeding sacrifice in my behalf appears:
    Before the throne my surety stands,
    Before the throne my surety stands,
    My name is written on His hands.

    He ever lives above, for me to intercede;
    His all redeeming love, His precious blood, to plead:
    His blood atoned for all our race,
    His blood atoned for all our race,
    And sprinkles now the throne of grace.

    Five bleeding wounds He bears; received on Calvary;
    They pour effectual prayers; they strongly plead for me:
    “Forgive him, O forgive,” they cry,
    “Forgive him, O forgive,” they cry,
    “Nor let that ransomed sinner die!”

    The Father hears Him pray, His dear anointed One;
    He cannot turn away, the presence of His Son;
    His Spirit answers to the blood,
    His Spirit answers to the blood,
    And tells me I am born of God.

    My God is reconciled; His pardoning voice I hear;
    He owns me for His child; I can no longer fear:
    With confidence I now draw nigh,
    With confidence I now draw nigh,
    And “Father, Abba, Father,” cry.

    Since it's Christmastime, I have a favorite Christmas hymn to share that we never sing in our church anymore.

    Gentle Mary Laid Her Child

    Gentle Mary laid her Child lowly in a manger.
    There He lay the undefiled,
    to the world a stranger.
    Such a Babe in such a place,
    can He be the Savior?
    Ask the saved of all the race who have found
    His favor.

    Angels sang about His birth.
    Wise men sought and found Him.
    Heaven's star shone brightly forth, glory
    all around Him.
    Shepherds saw the wondrous sight, heard the
    angels singing.
    All the plains were lit that night.
    All the hills were ringing.

    Gentle Mary laid her Child lowly in a manger.
    He is STILL the undefiled, but no more
    a stanger.
    Son of God, of humble birth, beautiful the story.
    Praise His name in all the earth.
    Hail the King of glory!

    Peace and Merry Christmas -
    Scarlett O.

    The other day I mentioned about the song
    "Hail, thou once despised and still rejected king" but the most sites show it with different verses ( Galilean King instead of rejected King) with different music. Now I found the right song with the same music that I used to listened to.

    Hope you will enjoy this at :

    http://www.hymnal.net/cgi-bin/hymns/index?t=h&n=114

    Hail, Thou once despised Jesus!
    Hail, Thou still rejected King!
    Thou didst suffer to release us,
    Thou didst free salvation bring;
    Through Thy death and resurrection,
    Bearer of our sin and shame!
    We enjoy divine protection,
    Life and glory through Thy name.

    You can find The Sands of Time are Sinking at this site also:

    http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/s/a/sandtime.htm

    Words: Anne R. Cousin, in The Christian Treasury, 1857. From this hymn came the title of Cousin’s 1876 work, Immanuel’s Land and other Pieces by A. R. C.

    Music: “Rutherford,” Chrétien d’Urhan, 1734; arranged by Edward F. Rimbault, 1867

    Anne R. Cousin:
    Born: April 27, 1824, Kingston-upon-Hull, Yorkshire, England

    Scotland

    Daughter of a doctor, Anne married William Cousin, pastor of the Free Church of Melrose, Scotland. She contributed many poems to various periodicals; seven hymns to The Service of Praise (Edinburgh, Scotland, 1865); and one to Psalms and Hymns for Divine Worship, 1866, the hymnal of the English Presbyterian Church. Four of her hymns were included in the Scottish Presbyterian Hymnal, 1876.

    Here is a list of some of her hymns:
    1. In the Songless Night, the Daylight Dreary
    2. King Eternal, King Immortal
    3. Lord, Mine Must Be a Spotless Dress
    4. O Christ, What Burdens Bowed Thy Head
    5. O Now Is the Time
    6. O Thou That on the Billow
    7. Sands of Time Are Sinking, The
    8. To Thee and to Thy Christ, O God
    9. To Thy Father and Thy Mother
    10. When We Reach Our Peaceful Dwelling

    You can also download the Midi and the lyrics are on the page.

    Hope this helps.

    I don't get to hear very many hymns anymore at all. I'd be glad to get even, "And can it be?" or "Come thou fount."
    But, you know, even when I hear them, they're all cut down. Four verses and only four verses are sung, as if singing five or six might tear some hole in the universe and doom mankind.

    For instance, look at all 19 verses of O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing
    Noone sings so much of the long songs anymore.

    I've been choosing the music at church the past month and have been incorporating hymns. This past Sunday we sang "Come Thou Fount" and "All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name". Previous weeks when sang "Solid Rock" and "Great is Thy Faithfulness". I'm not popular with those who enjoy"Happy-Clappy" ot "7-11" songs ... but I miss the old hymns and I do not believe I'm alone on that front.
