France, Italy, Hungary, Greece, Latvia . . . they've all signed a deal with the devil that put them on a strict diet of high taxes and austerity, for their own good of course.

Ukraine will wish they never heard of the EU before it's over.

Russia has some pretty high tax rates also. The sales tax is 18%, and oil companies in Russia are taxed at 45% of sales.

Polls show that most Ukrainians would prefer closer ties to the EU rather than the Russian-led Customs Union. Even the former Prime Minister Azarov who was forced to resign fled to Austria, not Russia.

The Russians couldn't even properly run the Olympics for crying out loud. No wonder they need to use threats of force against Ukraine to pull them back in.
