I have two on ignore. Not because there is anything wrong with them nor have they offended me but because every time they post it turns in to a doctoral thesis. I have had to start physical therapy on my finger scrolling past their posts. One guy uses three different font sizes, makes unnecessary spaces between lines, and blabs on and on forever about absolutely nothing. Good grief get to the point. Anyways my finger is better now that I have them on ignore. Thought I was going to have to have surgery.

I think I know who you are talking about.

Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Mouse > Wheel > Roll the wheel one notch to scroll-- 40 The following number of lines at a time

The way it usually unfolds is you say something incredibly ridiculous, I comment on it, you cannot respond, and then you start personal attacks.

It's strange to see someone discourage discussion that is not the typical facebook chatter we see from many.

Do you really think people are going to learn anything by having chit chat about the Word of God?

And what is it that we see from these people who like to chit chat?

Backbiting.

Questionable Doctrine.

Disruption.

So pat yourself on the back, my friend, and count yourself as fulfilling the will of God by discouraging people from learning.

Not sure what anyone would find funny, much less Christian...about that kind of attitude.

It's funny that the only people who have a problem with long posts are those who have a problem addressing the issues.

Of course, I can't expect everyone who comes to a Christian Doctrinal Discussion and Debate forum to actually be here for the purpose of discussion and debate.

Like I said, facebook would be a better place for some, because there you get short, random statements which are usually personal and have no eternal value...whatsoever.

Me, I take discussion seriously.

Be glad to take a look and see if it is actually three pages, and whether it is the doctrine that bothers you...not the length.

This is a superb example of the school yard mentality that those who live in a blogisphere perpetuated continually on this forum.

In that thread we see derailment, attack, and unchristian behavior.

I am wondering just how the new owner will respond to this kind of "Christian" posting.

Boys, there's a new Sherriff in town, and you better be praying that he does not start exercising a little Church discipline, because it may be facebook will be your new stomping grounds. I can tell you this, that some of you have lasted this long on any Christian forum is simply a testament to the lack of discipline in the Body of Christ today.

Anyone want to challenge my previous statements about backbiting? That is apparent enough in this thread, but any of you care for me to review that thread and see who it is that dishes it out but can't take it?

Go ahead, put me on ignore. That is just as well appreciated as any other means of having this kind of nonsense stopped.

I would have to admit that your habit of accusing others of doing the same things you do puts me off and makes me less inclined to interact with you though.

I tried having the above discussion with you but you insisted on telling me what my argument was and wouldn't give me a chance to actually tell you what it was. It was then that I realized that you're method of "debate" or "threshing things out" is to make up the other guy's argument for him as you go along to assure yourself a "victory" in the end.

That's my opinion., other's may vary.

Actually, I am qualified to judge my own posts, but...what does that have to do with the charge of a three pager (hyperbole or no)?

I enlarge the Scripture I present in my posts and this can make the posts seem large, but many of them are not. Much of the time I will break up a post to make it easier to respond. '

It seems to me that some think it is okay to say what they want but when someone directly addresses them they get bent out of shape. And that's when everything but the points and Scripture are targeted.

Let's face it, our beliefs are something that tend to make us emotional, and self control can be lost in the midst of Doctrinal Debate. We have to be on our guard.

They are relatively short in every thread. Most of my posts can be read in a few minutes.

The only question I have is why is it that people say they are here to discuss yet when someone does that...they suddenly want quips?

and besides he hasn't put me on his ignore list yet.

I never have, and never will do that, my friend.

That just seems to say "There is someone I can't (or won't) communicate with."

There is not one person I will ever give up on in discussion. If I am going to ignore someone (and there are people who are pointless to try to have a meaningful conversation with, though that does not mean that at a later date communication might not be possible), I am going to leave it open to re-engage at a future time.

Now, this post will take about a minute to read. It may seem long because of spacing, but it is not.
