Assuming that you had the power and ability to make that happen, I do mind. Alcott has as much right to speak on this board as you do.

About the OP and the election:

    What, me worry? :wavey:

Yup, as Rush says, Conservative ideals win every time against liberal ones.

Do you have a statue of him with candles around it that you pray to? It is amazing that a pill popping, self indulgent, self centered, worldly slob's name would show up in a Christian forum.

The incompetence and corruption were not enough, the Dems had to run as right leaning centrists to complete the deal.

    - "Look at me, I have a rifle and a dog in my commercial"
    - "I lowered taxes, I am not going to raise taxes"
    - "I love Jesus"
    - "Gay marriage? What's that?"
    - "Some of my best friends are republicans..."
    - "I'm for smaller government and cutting spending"

The Democrats had to have a conservative contest with the Republicans in order to win. The Republicans had already let us down, so we had no choice but to trust the Dems. Wait and see what happens in two years.

(Better grease that pendulum, it's going to be swinging awfully fast for awhile)

So God is not Sovereign. He can't control the political process.

So then you accept the fact that the voters of America strongly supported a change in government last night.

Yes, and as you conveniently left out I believe that Mayor Daley delivered Chicago to the Democrats and won the election for JFK in 1960.

Strongly? The Democrat gains in the House and Senate are slightly less than what would be expected based on history. There were an awful lot of close races. But I do accept the outcome of the election. And, this time, you do too.

I am amazed! I wouldn't have believed it had I not seen it with my own eyes.
There really ARE people who still cry over the elections of '02 and '04?
I am at a loss. And one of them calls himself "straight and narrow"?
How "narrow" would that be? Like the Grand Canyon? I am appalled.

Anywhozits. I am not bothered. It will still be business as usual up on the Hill.

Not until Jesus comes will this country EVER see the morality we once had. At one time, even the lost folks had respect for decency, ethics, morals, and honesty.

    Never again, for it has been foretold here;
    2Ti 3:1
¶ This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
    2Ti 3:2
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
    2Ti 3:3
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
    2Ti 3:4
    Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
    2Ti 3:5
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
    2Ti 3:6
For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
    2Ti 3:7
Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

    And here:
    2Pe 3:3
¶ Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
    2Pe 3:4
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
    2Pe 3:5
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
    2Pe 3:6
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
    2Pe 3:7
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

You will notice that these verses are talking of all men, ungodly men. Show me a godly politician today. Oh you may be able to produce a professing christian politician, but not a possessing one.

Get used to it Christian. America's favour with God is gone. We have two things left to do which we ought to have been doing more effectively all along.
    1. Preach faith in Jesus Christ.
    2. Preach repentance towards God.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Curtis, I think in your heart of hearts you understand why it was necessary to get rid of those fools.

Maybe your patriotism is stronger than your partisanship. I'm hearing that from a lot of republicans. "Well at least maybe they can fix..." or "They were in too long, and they got too comfortable running things..." and so on.

Galatian, I find it impossible to criticize the war in Iraq, when my brother Tim believes in it so much. He's been there three times, and is about to go back. His stories of the markets, television shows, hospitals & schools, they just don't match what I see on TV.

And I do respect your knowledge of history, and our military. Bush made serious mistakes, and so did Rummy. I'll agree. I hope he learned.

But the elevel of "the sky is falling coming from people who say they trust God is confusung. One guy told me to move to California.

Oh yeah, one more point, sending Jon Tester to Washington has opened up our State Senate to some old school guys, and I thinl Montana's in good shape for a while.

Actually, I don't think I meant what you think I meant. I quoted the wrong post by Alcott. It should have gone like this.

I replied that then he doesn't believe that God was Sovereign over the political process.

Understandable, but surely by now, you realize that even Bush's people admit that it made us more vulnerable to terrorism, killed thousands of our troops, and has made life a nightmare for the Iraqis.

It eats at me, the thought that we can't just apply force and win. But sometimes, wars are like that.
