Our church....

1. Used to have a parsonage
2. Used to have a family man as a pastor (pictured below)
3. Very disciplined guy - Up at 6AM every morning
4. Rejoiced in what he called being a Pentecostal Holiness country preacher
5. Revivals - At least one every two months - All with unique and good evangelists
6. Would let the Holy Spirit have his way in service
7. Take time to pray for the sick at church and in the hospitals. Carried a bottle of anointing oil with him
8. Was a friendly guy and would come visit you
9. Loved God and very Christlike.
10. A great, loving, and supportive family man as well

4 To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
5 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:
6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
7 For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
8 But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; - Titus 1

Our pastor fit this description. But I am afraid those days are forever over. Our current pastor is old and lives outside the county, as it is with the Lutheran pastor. I would prefer family men as pastor, but that option may no longer be available.

MESSAGE OF THE LORD JESUS UNTO HIS PEOPLE - HIS TRUE CHURCH

Around 60 years after JESUS ascention, our Lord was, let us say, "worried" with His people, with the Churches, not only of that time of the Churches of Asia, around year 95AD, but also of our time simultaneously, maybe much more "worried" with His Church of this time of the end, that is time of Apocalypse, because apostasy would grow exceendingly in this time (1Tim.4:v.1& 2Thes.2:v. 2-4), this is the main signal of the manifestation of the MAN of sin, the son of perdition, even him whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.

The things exposed above reffer to what John saw in his FIRST RAPTURE, and are written in Revelation Chapters 1-2&3 - whose things were happening in the 7 Churches of Asia around the year 95, and the same are happening in this end of time, and will happen during the Antichrist's kingdom that will be established soon, very soon.

After these things John was raptured by the second time, now from the Lord's Day, that is this seventh and last Day or seventh and last millennium, to the third heaven where was showed unto him all things as they are written in the chapters 4 to 22.

Revelation 4:v.1-2
1 - After this I - John - looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

2 - And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
Everything John did write about the 7 Churches of Asia in Revelation chap.2-3, were happening in his time around the year 95, and are happening also in this end of the time, and is and will be worse than that time.

What was hapenning with the angels of the Churches in the year 95AD?

Church of Ephesus - the angel left his first love and was fallen - And the Church?

1 - Conditions of the angel of the church of Ephesus: Rev. 2:4-5 - 4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Church of Pergamos - the angel was tolerant with bad things-idolatry, fornications

2 - Conditions of the angel of the church of Pergamos - Rev. 2:14-16 - 14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. 15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate. 16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.

Church of Thyatira - the angel was tolerant with fornications and with the devilish Jezabel's doctines of idolatries and more fornications

3 - Conditions of the angel of the church of Thyatira - Rev.2: 20-21 - 20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.

Chuch of Sardis - the angel was spiritually dead - And the Church?

4 - Conditions of the angel of the angel of Sardis - Rev.3:1-3 - And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. (The dead praise not the Lord, ...(Psalms 115:v.17) 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

Church of Laodiceah - the angel was wretched, miserable, poor, BLIND and naaked. And the Church?

5 - Conditions of the angel of the church of Laodiceah - Rev.3:16-17 - 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and BLIND, and naked: (if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.)

Churches of Smyrna and Philadelphia - message about Synagogue of Satan and blaspheme of the false Jews

6 - About the Churches of Smyrna and Philadelphia, there was not problems with the angels of them, but whith the members and admirers of the Jews or inhabitants of Israel:

Rev. 2:v.9 - I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Rev. 3:9 - Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

All these things above are happening in the Churches of the present time, the time of Apocalypse, where many members or almost all members are admirers of the Jews in general, and discern not them which are liars and are of the synagogue of Satan. (Them which believe not in JESUS are synagogue of Satan)

Brethren, notice that until this moment described in Revelation chapters 1 to 3, the apostle John had not yet been caught up into heaven, but to the Lord's Day only, the seventh and last Day or seventh and last millennium (Rev.1:v.10).

John was caught up twice and by the second time from the Lord's Day unto heaven as is written in Revelation 4:v.1.

continuation of post above

And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

3 Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock.

4 The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.

5 And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.

6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.

7 Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the Lord;

8 As I live, saith the Lord God, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became meat to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;

9 Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the Lord;

10 Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.

11 For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out.

12 As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

13 And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.

14 I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.

15 I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord God.

16 I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.

17 And as for you, O my flock, thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats.

18 Seemeth it a small thing unto you to have eaten up the good pasture, but ye must tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures? and to have drunk of the deep waters, but ye must foul the residue with your feet?

19 And as for my flock, they eat that which ye have trodden with your feet; and they drink that which ye have fouled with your feet.

20 Therefore thus saith the Lord God unto them; Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat cattle and between the lean cattle.

21 Because ye have thrust with side and with shoulder, and pushed all the diseased with your horns, till ye have scattered them abroad;

22 Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle.

23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.

24 And I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the Lord have spoken it.

25 And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.

26 And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.

27 And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the Lord, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them.

28 And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.

29 And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.

30 Thus shall they know that I the Lord their God am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord God.

31 And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord God.

In Christ JESUS, KING of kings (made them by Him), and LORD of lords

I think a lot of us have old pastors we miss. But, it's hard for me to imagine anyone really missing these mega-church pastors who specialize in motivational sermons and marketing, especially those pastors who are streamed in on video to satellite campuses. Who can say things about them as you've said about your old pastor?

I believe my old pastor attended well to the primary roll of a pastor, which is to tend to the sheep.
