So what about a true born again believer who falls into sin? Based on the doctrines of perseverance that person will always turn back to Christ after the Lords chastening. I believe this is what is happening to me. I know that God gave me his seal of the Holy Spirit. I did norms just pray a prayer. So either God is drawing me back to him or I've completely lost my salvation which isn't biblical. I was never an apostate. I simply went my own way was chewed up by the world and now God is restoring me. Unless you believe that a true Christian can never become addicted,depressed,defeated, etc for a long time. I never stopped believing and always felt God trying to pull me back. I thought I could do life my way and I was wrong.
