I still struggle to understand the NT in the KJV

What do you mean by you struggle to “understand each sentence or passage as a single idea”?

I immediately think of verses like John 3:16, which contain a single idea about God’s love and salvation.

Can you give us some examples of sentences or passages that you cannot understand?

Why would “the way passages seem to be related to each other” be a hindrance to prevent you from understanding them? This relatedness of passages is how the Bible interprets itself.

I would like to help you, if I can, but I don’t know how at this point.
@Guido, I like what Ascetic X has to say here. Why don't you show us an example of passages that are hard for you to understand.

We would LOVE to help you.

I don’t know your situation at all. For anyone reading this, these are some good things to check if you find that God is not speaking to you.
Again I am not saying that theOP is in this situation but it is good for anyone to consider in a time of dry, fruitless reading.

Amos 8:11-12
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD,
that I will send a famine in the land,
not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water,
but of hearing the words of the LORD:
And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east,
they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

The cause of the punishment given in Amos is the actions of the people being sinful and not toward God.

Saul had the same problem.

1 Samuel 28:6
And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.

There is a solution.

2 Samuel 22:27
With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure;
and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

God knows how much we desire to find Him.
James 1:5-8
-- If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord

There is also that all may not have the ability to digest the meat of the Word because they are not exercised to the use of it.

Acts 8:31
And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

This is why God has given pastors and teachers.
It is always a blessing to find someone who not only is willing, but enjoys discussing the Word of God.
