I surrender and apologise

I will no longer take part in the mental illness discussions because I am too close to the issue since I have a mental illness myself.

I am 6'3" and 275 lbs. I had a bad reputation for fighting when I was younger. I got arrested so much for fighting that the police stopped coming to pick me up, they'd just call me and I'd go down to the courthouse and pay the fine on my own.

Anyway, for a person that is used to not taking any junk from anybody, it is very hard to sit here and get bullied over the internet. It is frustrating, and it honestly makes me furious that i have no control over it.

Well, Ann was right, I have given FAL and Fred too much control over me, but that stops now.

FAL, please accept my apology, but please dont expect any more input from me about mental illness.

Also, Luke. I am asking you to forgive me also. A few months ago I was bullying and harrassing you not unlike the way FAL has bullied me, it was just a different topic. Now that I know how it feels I am ashamed of the way I treated you. I sincerely apologise.

I certainly do accept your apology and I will continue to pray for you that you will learn to deal with your particular sin issue in a biblical manner as we all have to do. I know what anger, machoism, and hate can do as before becoming a Christian I would fight at the drop of the hat or worse. As a former power lifter and brawler I have even pulled police over to fight them when I thought they violated my space and pulled people through car windows to get to them. No one was safe around me. My entire family feared me and it took over 20 years of living a Christian life before many of them were convinced and comfortable being around me again. Our sins run deep and it can be a real battle once we are saved, but with confession and forsaking God will heal us.

To deny mental illness in this world is to be afflicted with it.

Funny. Last night our guest speaker/preacher spoke of being taught how to play pool by the town drunk. He learned all the tricks around a pool table and made a ton of money.

Then, when the Lord called him he became angry as he just couldn't understand why the Lord needed a pool stick. ...but he finally gave it to Him.

He's now in his early 60's having preached for 40 years. Life is really a learning process, no?

There was no dig. I offered him proper biblical counsel with prayers. It is up to John if he wants set free from his anger or not.
