Never said I was the smartest in the room, but I have no problem challenging the status quo. I compel no one to believe anything, but we are to seek and speak sound doctrine. Jesus was humble, but He called out error and those practicing it so not mutually exclusive. Paul was somewhat terse and yet, he spoke of himself being unworthy to be an apostle and the servant of all. Just sayin'.But I am the smartest person in the room. I am right and those holding differing views are wrong. So it is ok to use compulsion to compel others to accept my views, or hit the road. I am unbowed!
Not exactly the image of Christ's humility! JOY considers others more important than ourselves, and puts Christ ahead of everything else.
Sorry if you think I was disparaging you or your thread. I was attempting to support it.Never said I was the smartest in the room, but I have no problem challenging the status quo. Glad I misunderstood as I do not see myself like that. In my younger, Independent Fighting Fundamental Baptist, day I did exhibit some of those traits, but I hope I am at least mostly past those days.Sorry if you think I was disparaging you or your thread. I was attempting to support it.
The great thing about being born anew, is we can look back and see our faults, but we can look forward and see no obstacle for our service to Christ.Glad I misunderstood as I do not see myself like that.
