JUDICIAL APPOINTMENTS

As evangelicals become more involved in politics, the abortion issue is at the forefront of many minds. Many evangelicals say something like, “I know that Bush and the GOP aren’t perfect, but I can never support a candidate who is pro-choice.”

First, let me say a wholehearted “amen!” Abortion is murder. It is infant genocide, and a shame on our culture. It is especially a shame for so many churches and denominations who endorse pro-death candidates that have abandoned the Bible long ago.

The issue here is not whether abortion is right or wrong. Clearly, it is an evil that must be stopped as soon as possible. The issue at hand is the Constitution and the power of the President to appoint Supreme Court Justices.

My good friends in the GOP reason this way.

1) Only Congress has the power to make laws, given by the Constitution.
2) Corrupt judges, who are not elected by the people, have taken this duty on themselves, especially in the “activist” courts of Earl Warren and William Rehnquist.
3) This is why we have Roe vs. Wade, abortion on demand, and the slaughter of 35 million babies since 1973.
4) If we re-elect Bush, he will nominate conservative judges who will overturn Roe vs. Wade.

The problem with this reasoning is not with the intent. All Christians want the slaughter to stop. Roe vs. Wade is legalized murder.

The larger issue concerns judicial activism. The Constitution of the United States requires that the House of Representative and the Senate are the only law-makers. The President can sign or veto laws that are passed by the Congress and Senate, but he cannot legally make laws by himself. This is the difference between our President and a dictator. All Executive Orders the President makes are therefore unconstitutional. The Supreme Court of the United States interprets the laws to see if they are constitutional. If a bill is passed by the Congress, and signed into law by the President, but the Supreme Court finds the law unconstitutional, then the bill ceases to be a law and it must be returned to the legislative branch. Judges cannot make laws. Only the Congress and Senate can make a law, provided it is signed by the President.

It is therefore unconstitutional to have a judge enact a law like Roe vs. Wade. But an override is also unconstitutional.

So, the bottom line becomes this. Conservatives don’t want liberal judges to make laws, like Roe vs. Wade. But it isn’t because they make laws, it is because they are liberal laws. The GOP encourages unconstitutionally acting judges to do things like overturn laws. Republicans support law-making, unconstitutional, conservative judges.

We all need to recall what the Constitution says, and stop rationalizing the desire for conservative, law-making courts. Any Judge that makes a law is acting unconstitutionally.

DON’T WASTE YOUR VOTE

Often Christians believe that a vote for anyone other than the Republican candidate is a wasted vote. There’s no chance of a third party candidate winning, so why even try?

We need to stop consulting the opinion polls and considering the compromise choices of the Democrats and Republicans. We need to stop acting as though our obedience to the Scriptures ends whenever we are in the voting booth.

Bush and Kerry have both ignored the Constitution when it comes to their agreement with the Clinton administration’s assault weapons ban and the extension of the federal government in our private lives known as the Patriot Act. Bush and Kerry are in favor of civil unions for homosexuals. Bush and Kerry support increasing the size and scope of the federal government. Bush and Kerry both agree that Islam is a “religion of peace” and that Muslims and Christians “worship the same God.”

President Bush, a supposed Pro-Life President, signed $480 million of increased funding for International Family Planning. The Bush administration has now surpassed the Clinton administration as the biggest supporter of international baby murder in our history.

Both Bush and Kerry supported the removal of the Ten Commandments from the Alabama Judicial Building in Montgomery during last year’s controversy.

And we expect this President to uphold the Constitution, and speak for conservative Christian values?

Thankfully, there is a third option available to us. The Constitution Party honors God, defends the family, and seeks to restore the Constitutional American Republic. You no longer have to throw your vote away on compromised choices. Send a message to the Republican Party. The Republicans count on your vote to increase the size of the government and take away your freedom, all the while assuring you that they are protecting your freedoms. Make a stand against hypocrisy.

Vote Michael Peroutka for President!

I would rather not let fear be the motivation for my vote. We survived eight years of Clinton, and four years of Bush and we will survive four years of either Bush or Kerry.
Good point. If Kerry did get elected wouldn't his warring with the conservative majority at least slow the erosion down and maybe in the meantime get more conservatives to look at what is happening? It seems to me that more and more Christians are getting increasingly concerned with the policies being put in place. I would appreciate everyone's thoughts on that. </font>[/QUOTE]I often wonder which candidate winning would make the conservative voters wake up.

If Kerry wins we would have another four years like we did with Clinton in office, with the GOP Congress and Kerry fighting and causing gridlock. In 2008 conservative voters would support whoever the GOP puts on the ticket (Rudy), just to get the Democrats out of the Whitehouse and to stop Hillary.

If Bush wins he will continue to do more of what he has done during his first term. There are already thousands of conservative voters who feel betrayed by George W. Bush, and will be voting for Peroutka this year. Maybe, four more years of Bush will convince the conservative voters that the GOP is no longer the party for conservative voters.

Either way, regardless of which of the two candidates win, our Constitutional Republic and conservative principles loose!

Absolutely. Kerry is the lesser evil, because Bush is able to implement the liberal Democart agenda far more evvectively than and Democrat.

He pushed America further leftward if four years than Clinton did in eight.

Why give up your vote to keep Kerry out, when at least he would be stopped by the GOP congress...which Bush won't.

That is what I was thinking but I am not as eloquent. There are increasing numbers of Christians that do feel betrayed by our party. Most all my family are voting Peroutka and praying more wake up.

In the event Kerry wins, it will slow things down enough to give more time to inform more Christian Republicans, in my view. We have to think about our kids and grandkids too. Not only how the elections benefit us directly. That's my thinking.

You don't have to agree 100% down the line with your candidate on the issues. What is important to me is the war on terror, the appointing of justices, the ban on funding embryonic stem cell research, partial birth abortion and abortion all together. All issues that if were in Kerry's hands would lead this country to far worse conditions.
Good points!

Thank you for your vote!!!!!!!!

I have a deep respect for you to be willing to vote for President Bush but mainly to share you decision with us. I don't think many people here would be able to do what you just did.

I just pray that whether it is Bush or Kerry that we can support and pray for the winner. Whoever wins will certainly need them.

It is almost live the Civil War, except it is Republicans VS Democrats!

He could very easily lose this race in Arkansas and nationwide in enough States to give Senator Kerry the presidency, especially if the Democratic Party efforts at vote fraud succeed.

I detest the neocons and the direction they have steered American foreign policy in the the Bush administration. I detest the liberalism that has been the domestic hallmark of the Bush presidency.

But I also cannot sit by and watch a self-admitted war criminal such as John Kerry and his snooty wife gain power. I cannot allow someone who lied about my brother's and brother-in-law's honorable service in Vietnam become commander-in-chief of my two great nephews who recently joined the Army. I cannot sit by and watch Hillary Clinton become the next chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. I cannot sit by and watch the candidate of Michael Moore and the Hollywood elite gain ascendency.

My apologies to Michael Peroutka and the Constitution Party.

Since I did not vote early, the situation now on the ground in Arkansas demands that I vote for George W. Bush come next Tuesday.
But it doesn't bother you that a man who was AWOL during wartime is your commander-in-chief? I just don't understand your logic.

Well, I respect Ken's right to vote his conscience as we all should.

I will vote for Peroukta because in my opinion he is the only candidate that is committed to upholding the US Constitution.

You are doing the right thing, Ken. Tennessee's electoral votes are not in jeopardy, so I was not conflicted about voting for Michael Peroutka. Follow your gut instincts. They will never let you down.

Your friend (when push comes to shove, even though we disagree on some things),

Ken,

I urge you to consider that Kerry is the lesser evil.

If elected, his efforts to implement socialism at home and building the NWO abroad will be opposed by the GOP congress.

If Bush is re-elected, the same policies will be enthusiastically supported by the congress and many "conservative" Christians.

Yes, give me a man as Commander in Chief who has flown a fighter jet versus one who got out of Viet Nam as quickly as he could with 3 Purple Hearts for minor scratches.

If the CP was competitive and I voted for them, it would still be the lesser of two evils. The ideas espoused concerning foreign policy are inane.

The world, and in particular radical Islam, will not leave us alone just because we leave them alone. The world will not all of a sudden like us, much less respect us, because we crawl into a shell.

The CP misinterprets why we are "hated". We are liked or hated by Europe in direct proportion to how much we allow them to determine how our wealth is spent, what our internal policies are, and where our military fights. We are hated by various others because their people long for what we have... a direct threat to the current rulers.

None of this will change if we go isolationist. In fact, it may become much worse as we will be considered even more selfish.
