    Yep, you're right there, friend. The young folk in Japan nowadays are eating those beef hamburgers instead of good old raw fish, and growing taller and taller. I, on the other hand, seem to be shrinking in height but growing in width. :laugh:

    So.....if you eat raw fish then you are a "shrimp"? Is that what you mean John?

    I'm sure she did a beautiful job. It's a lovely song.

    And Joseph Smith, please let us know how your daughter and new grandson are doing. God bless you all.

    Agree with much of what you say Helen.

    It is hard to not touch on Calvinism in answering your subject, "Wondering", but it is addressed in order to answer your question. In wondering we turn to Him to see if He has something to tell us. I believe He wants us to know what we wonder about.

    I find satisfaction in what He tells me in Ephesians. I believe we are here for His Pleasure, and that gets us into other areas. "Ephesians 1:4-9, "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
    5. Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
    6. To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
    7. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
    8. Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
    9. Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:" Ephesians 1:4-9".

    So I believe what we wonder about He tells us He chose us in Him before the beginning of the world. For the good pleasure of His will He chose us. When we chose Him He accepted us, for by His Grace we are saved through His beloved (the elected one, predestined). When we come along, He moulds us and makes us what we are as He is righteous, and we are made righteous in Him. In Him we become "predestined" to be bodily raised and be like Him.

    I don't believe we have to worry too much about what we are to do (He will see we do something, but we don't have to wonder about what we should do) for His Will, will be done in us. I believe we can see this in the Book of Esther as we see God working His will then in His providence, when He was not speaking to His people (just as today) but directing according to the good pleasure of His will. He has a place for us in His "Body Church".

    Helen, thank you for this thread, it made me think over where and when I`ve been able with Gods help to witness in the most peculiar places, and, at the time wonder how I got into those situations, and all the time He knew where I would be and when , and who I would be in contact with.For instance,
    I was working in a shoe shop about 10 years ago, as the manager, and a young man whom I knew slightly came in to speak to me. I knew him because some years earlier my husband lost his wallet, and this young man and his brother (who were not known locally as the most upstanding youngsters ) found it. They came to our home that evening, and they live about 6 miles away in the town where David lost his wallet, and returned it to him.David rewarded them with a few pounds and thanked them for their honesty......... they went off and I don`t think I saw him until the day in the shop.
    I wondered what he wanted me for so I asked him into my office, He said he was so unhappy and couldn`t cope with his life. I was wondering why he should come to me with this as I hardly knew him. He said that I always seemed so cheerful, and never seemed to let things get me down....... I explained to him that it was my faith in The Lord Jesus that was holding me up and said that , if he wanted , I could show him some scripture that may help him........ I gave him a bible that I "happened to have" (I believe this was Gods plan) in my car, turned for him to the gospel of John and read some to him , He went on to become a believer :godisgood: . I believe that I am who, and where I am by Gods will, and here till I`ve done what He has planned for me to do.

    Well, since you asked ...

    Donovan Eric Rondeau was born at 1:03 p.m. Dec. 27, 2006, weighing in at 8 lb 2 oz, length 20 in. Correct count of fingers, toes, etc., and his nurse knows all too well that his waterworks operate <grin>.

    Daughter Karen is doing well ... grandma and grandpa and two big sisters had a wonderful time last night. Want to see photos?

    But back to the original theme of this thread ... we may not know what God wants to do through this young fella. But to believe that he does indeed have a purpose, and to instill in him as he grows the thirst to discover and act on that purpose, will be a great privilege indeed.
